Region: The Vincence Empire

The Neo-Republic of China and the Union of Soviet Federative Socialist Republics had set up a military alliance known as the Fifth Internationale in the aftermath of the Soviet-Japanese war. Aligned ideologically and both facing threats from various fascist and imperial powers, both countries' geopolitical ambitions had involved an alliance with the other. Now though, with the Soviet Union in the middle of an internal crisis and a war raging on China's far western border, the alliance had begun to fragment. China, being completely blindsided by the chaos of the succession issue in Russia, had no time to react to the looming civil war - and thus, it demanded an explanation from the Soviet government about what the hell had happened in the USSR, and why there was now a civil crisis on the horizon. China had begun moving troops into Western China and towards the border in an effort to "help" secure the eastern regions of the USSR in the not-so unlikely event of a state collapse, and now, China waited, agitated, for the response of the Soviets.

As Chinese troops amassed near the Soviet border, the Stavka would become concerned, sensing a possible invasion if the situation in the UFSSR got worse, they would immediately call Moscow. Matthew and Dimitri would become outraged upon hearing of the situation happening on their border with China. Matthew would command the troops in the Russian Far East to move to defensive positions closer to the border in case the current situation escalated. The Soviet high command would inform the Chinese that everything was under control, also telling the Chinese to withdrawal their troops from the border.
