The Chinese strategy for this offensive relied on total devastation of all infrastructure and population centres, and the country's armed forces would not stop, no matter how much destruction and mass death they caused. And so it was - with cities like Kabul being bombed into a lunar craterscape, with firestorms raging through the city as autonomous Chinese fighter jets and drones dropped gargantuan amounts of bombs and rained down hypersonic missiles. Presumably, this protracted bombing of thousands of cities and military targets would cause mass casualties.
