As the Oriental Empire is so incredibly diverse there are bound to be a few independence movements but perhaps not as many as you'd think,
as the Nation has ruled over the same area over almost 2 000 years a large majority of people see themselves as a part of the greater roman
nation and heritage, regardless of their individual ethnicity.

The only real independence movements are the results of various nationalism movements in other countries, being built on viewing our nation
as the evil antichrist, countries like Greece have long laid claim to all of Thrace up to Constantinople, as well as the entire Aegean and the west
coast. These claims are kind of wild and unjustified however there is some traction in the isles of Lêvoulă, Chirhôulă, Sămôulă and the
Dodecanêoulií. (Lesbos, Chios, Samos and the Dodecanese Islands, respectively)

In the east, in the Theme of Mazandaran, there is a sentiment among the population to unify with Turkmenistan, as they have little to nothing
in common with the ruling Greco-Latinized Romans. This will not happen however because it's a useful area to annoy the Turkmeni internationally

Last and definitely least there is a movement on the city of Tinniâ, located near the border with Odrysia. There is a small Russian community
here that claim that somehow the entirety of Thrace is rightfully Russian, and of course plead internationally for help against the oppressive non
Russian Regime here
