Day Two - Our Socialist Unity Party of Germany Holds Extraordinary Congress in Berlin; the 20th Congress of the Party since its Founding in 1949

EAST BERLIN - On the second day of the Extraordinary 20th Congress of the Socialist Unity Party, delegates have been voting on various issues, hearing from esteemed Party comrades on the work that is being done on behalf of the worker's and peasant's state, and have engaged in vigorous discussions both within the Congress hall, and around the city.

The CC - SED Report and the Party objectives was delivered by comrade Dr. Dietmar Bartsch, whom stood in as comrade General Secretary Klaus Ernst personally gave a tour of schools, factories, farms, and various other enterprises in and around the Capital of the GDR, to the delegates from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In this way, the Secretariat has hoped to be able to dissuade the government of the DPRK from retaining its ultra-hardline Jucheist stance, and instead begin taking action to initiate neccessary economic, military, and political reforms which are believed to considerably benefit the people of the DPRK, and ease tensions in the region.

Comrade Marschall der DDR Franz Heinrich Richter, Minister of National Defense of the GDR, also gave an Address before the delegates of the Congress. In it, he briefed the delegates on the status of the Volksarmee Special Military Operations in Donbas, and communicated the need for further investment in the military. Comrade Marschall Richter also declared that the Volksmarine was effectively being converted into a true, bluewater navy; with heavy investment coming in the form of purchases of new equipment, new warships, and modern technology from fraternal nations such as Russia, Belarus, Vietnam, and Waiku. He emphasized the need to fight against Fascism wherever it raises its head, which he described as being an intolerable menace to all of Humanity. Stating things bluntly, Marschall der DDR Richter said "As we speak, comrades, the Nationale Volksarmee is liberating the people of the Donbas from the evils of fascist tyranny. Together with our allies, Russia and Belarus, we are fighting to restore the people's rights. As Germans, it is our sacred duty to destroy all fascist regimes, their Braunhemden-bataillonen, their influence, and their ability to bear arms against their neighbors. It is a responsibility which we must not cast away lightly, and I can assure you, that the Nationale Volksarmee is doing no such thing".

Comrade General Secretary Ernst was unanimously reelected as general secretary by the Party delegates, and the 20th Central Committee has been nominated. Membership of the 20th Central Committee will be voted upon on the 27th of June.
