Héctor Santiago Jiménez y Yagüe jerked himself awake as the door to his luxury suite splintered open. He reached for
the nightstand drawer which had his handgun in it when he suddenly became aware of the smell of smoke. Blinking a couple of times at the flashlights being shone at him he registered that the intruders were fire brigade members. They spoke to him rapidly and picked him up bodily before rushing him out of the room. The hotel's fire alarm wasn't going off, but smoke and people filled the hallway and ran about everywhere. Once they got him several flights of stairs down a policeman escorted him to the lobby and spoke reassuringly to him in Eusazy, explaining that the room next to his had suffered an electrical fire and he would need to wait in the lobby for the fire brigade to complete their work on his floor.
In the formerly occupied suite, Secret Service technicians took a tablet, cell phone, and a laptop they found and any papers they could find. The carefully controlled fire was allowed to spread through the adjoining wall into the Suite 7A which was then flooded down by the fire brigade. Identical models of electronic were left behind to be burned up and then doused by the fire brigade. The secret service men left by the hotel's back exit.

In a relatively nice suburban house outside of the city on the mainland, the Glean family including Elaine Glean, her husband Thionan, and his brother Fairgylle were asleep in anticipation of the long weekend. An infiltration team gained access to the house through the side door. Anesthetic gases were pumped into the two bedrooms in the house putting all three occupants into a deep sleep. Once they were unconscious, they were bound and carried to a waiting van which whisked them away to a secure interrogation site.
