Region: United Valhaven

Dear nations of United Valhaven,
Hello. My name is Laharao, but you most likely don’t know me by that name. Instead, you know me as Kreotopia or Akanla. After years away from this game, I have decided to return, albeit not to this region. But, after spending my night reading our old RMB posts, I felt the need to make a statement here, seeing how our peak I was here and the “collapse” of this region was partly my fault. So, I spent the night in quarantine, putting together a timeline between old RMB posts, sent TGs and my own memory to explain to you all, in detail, what happened between me, you all, and Ante Meridiem (a name which lives in infamy):

In the late summer of 2015, I discovered NATIONSTATES online, after being bored of other games I had played. I was looking for something collaborative and I got it with this game. I decided to create the nation known as Akanla. After moving around a whole bunch, I settled in this region, United Valhaven during the middle of a justice crisis. A whole bunch else happened before and after but for briefness (of what I assume will be a long post) I’ll keep it short.

I decided to show this game to my best friend (who remains my best friend to this very day) Konstantinus. We were freshman in hs, how could we know what would happen? Bad things. A massive influx of nations, both bots and not. Big fights. Cyber bullying that spilled over into the real world. A death (YES actually). It was a disaster and it was the craziest thing in freshman year.
It spilled into United Valhaven and caused a huge fight, massive bannings and a ton Of people Leaving the region which ended up leaving us where we are today. I ended up going to another region letting two of my accounts CTE. I became the second in command of one, but then eventually CTE.

So why did i write this post? I was reading through our all RMB and I just felt bad. I was a pesky little 14 year old. I’m 20 now and I still don’t know anything. But I’m a writer so I felt the need to document what happened. To see this tragedy. It’s not serious, it’s a game, but that’s a cop out. We put our souls into this, made it tissue, made it mass, made it ours. I don’t take blame for what happened entirely, but I kickstarted this butterfly effect. I’m still friends with all those others nations to this day. We were stupid kids who didn’t realize we destroyed what others were working hard on. So I apologize. I hope that you all realize that all we have is now and that you continue to enjoy this game for whatever reason you brings you joy.

Regards,
Laharao
