They were the generation that got us to the Moon. They brought us the television and advanced the world even further. The Silent Generation is the wealthiest generation because of this. And what have millennial snowflakes done? maybe ate some avocado toast or made some computer companies, but most of the time they have been whining in their parents' basements waiting for their welfare checks. I think snowflakes should get off their lazy asses and actually get a life, because it's time for them to step up.

Well excuse us for growing up in a time of peace.
Edit: To make a better argument here, our ancestors worked tirelessly through that so that we could live like this. This is what they wanted. If another World War or something happens then we'll fight so that our children can live in luxury.

I'm sorry I think my brain broke during one of your wild jumps. 10/10 in the Mental Gymnastics department. While there is an immeasurable amount written about everything you just said, which I will not unpack for you because a simple google search can.

The bottom line is that Dr Seuss isn't cancelled, and the Silent Generation is rich from a combination of living a long time, government spending/programs before and after WWII such as the GI Bill, which was an undeniable good, and the fact that they lived through an unprecedented period of economic growth. GDP growth was 8.7% in 1950 alone. In contrast, real wages haven't grown in the US since the 1970s, and it's not "lazy millennials" at fault, it is the system that allows some to become incredibly wealthy while most people make nothing. For example, three people hold as much wealth as the bottom 50% of Americans (source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/noahkirsch/2017/11/09/the-3-richest-americans-hold-more-wealth-than-bottom-50-of-country-study-finds/?sh=48adff143cf8). That is not a result of the fact that these three individuals worked collectively as hard as 50% of Americans, and while it is undeniable that they have each worked hard, no person should be able to hold that sort of wealth.

I will stop before I write a manifesto detailing my personal economic policy, but please telegram me if you want more information or if you have any questions.

The 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution provides Congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech. In the case of Cardi B, that freedom of speech means being allowed to sing about wet parts of the female anatomy. In the case of Dr Seuss Enterprises, that freedom of speech means not being forced to publish books they do not wish to publish.

Hey, do you know what I'm concerned about?

I'm concerned about people who create exaggerated stereotypes and strawmen in replace of actual arguments.
I'm concerned about people who lavish praises upon and venerate a generation who, while accomplishing many great feats, also held deeply problematic social views.
I'm concerned about people who post wild statements that spread deceitful lies and insult broad swaths of good people in anticipation of getting a reaction from others.
I'm concerned about people who are given strong, respectful arguments backed with evidence and respond with comments of "okay" and move on as if nothing ever happened.
I'm concerned about hypocrites who constantly criticize those who complain, while also doing more complaining than anyone else.
I'm concerned about people who probably know that their posts at the very least add no value, and at the worst actively make this space worse.

That's what I'm concerned about.

Glad someone else noticed this -- anytime someone presents a well-reasoned rebuttal, it's "okay" and then silence for days, until the next time he wants to stir the pot with more inane MAGA culture wars nonsense.

I think Caprydania might not know what a debate is. A debate is a formal discussion in which opposing logical and factual arguments are brought to support differing viewpoints.
"ok boomer" is an ad hominem. A fallacious argument that attempts to undermine the opposite viewpoint by insulting the person holding it. Fallacious because the characteristics of a person dont actually speak to the veracity of their arguments or viewpoints. So you can not logically conclude that because a certain person holds a viewpoint, it is wrong.

If you want this to be an actual debate, learn to debate. Dont just call it a debate because people disagree with you.

Now, if you want to actually debate, find a logical reason, not just an ad hominem, why the constitutionally protected right of free speech does not or should not protect a private company from publishing or not publishing books to which it owns the copyright. Or perhaps find a logical reason for why the company should not own the copyright to begin with. But dont just yell "cancel culture" and "ok boomer" and pretend its a debate.

Update: https://youtu.be/vEmgeWnfOm8 (video is in spanish, you will have to search for the news in the internet, but they really went out, completely unacceptable behavior from the people in the manifestation, which turned into a riot. I am sad just looking how they destroy public and private property.)

It's more or less just the US consensus progressive policy, here is probably the best representation of the things I believe in.
