I notice that this one is different though, because when I went to answer one of my two issues, I suddenly had one issue and where's the love was it. They're having some bug issues at NS central.
Japan just got smoked by a series of tsunamis, caused by a nearby magnitude 8.8 earthquake. There are tsunami alerts all over the Asia Pacific coast and tsunami watches for northwest North America.

The news footage is truly awe inspiring Bruce (a nice way of saying shocking I guess).
My heart goes out to the guys in cars doing three point turns and trying to cut across farmland to escape the coming tsunami... not to mention the one or two you can spot trying to outrun it on foot.

My heart goes out to anyone in Japan, or with family/other loved ones currently there. The boyfriend has family in Hawaii, and I'm personally euphoric that (as far as we know), nothing's happened to them. NorCal wasn't really affected too much from afterschocks/residual waves (though, apparently, some were freaking out that SF was going to be hit - not remembering that our bay sort-of works almost like a funnel), but I've heard that some docks were wiped out in SoCal. Crazy stuff, man.

They have a lot more government based insurance in Japan and more prepared than anyone else for this. If this happened in LA, the insurance companies would play the act of god card and dump their policy holders when they were most needed or go running to the government for a bailout.
