Eh?

It is just me or has NationStates been very slow lately? Like for the last couple weeks.

On another note, the SoC election is coming up. Will probably happen in mid-May.

On another another note: I will launch a recruitment campaign next weekend. Be ready to say hello to some new Liberites!

It has been fairly slow. Funnily enough Lazarus has also been starting to slow down.

Kronomia I'm gonna do a time skip again if that's fine. Sorry for the wait.

Can I build a sky hook?

Hakelforge wrote:Can I build a sky hook?

Even with our rp technology, I'm not sure if that's possible....then again, I'm thinking of a space elevator.

A sky hook is a space elevator alternative. While the method is more complex and the system requires more effort to use than a space elevator, the upshot is that it could theoretically be constructed with modern materials.

Official Message from Hakelforge Public Relations Ministry
After an long and intensive period of research and engineering the Hakelforge Industrial Space Expansion/Exploration has announced that they are to launch a small "rotating orbital hook/counterweight tether system" which they plan to use to evaluate what kinds of forces they will be looking at for the skyhook. They have requested that we make it very clear that this is in no way shape or form even a proof of concept, and that it only serves to test for additional environmental factors they may not have accounted for, as a prototype failing would be very expensive and could result in significant damage to wherever it falls. Nevertheless, a launch is always exciting and Hakelforgers are encouraged to view it live from a distance.

State Secretary Taars smiles and says, "yes I did, thank you very much. I hope you had good rest as well. I know we have much to discuss."

She looks around the hall to show that she is admiring the art and architecture.

Out-of-Character

Apologies for the late response. I should be responding more frequently this week.

Uni just finished last week so I've been pretty busy dealing with my last assignments. Still, all done now!

"Indeed. My people drew up this. Take a look."

He hands her the sheet of paper.

It reads:

'We, the governments of Publica and Kronomia, in order to safeguard our mutual interests and ensure our safety, do enter into the following agreement:

1) That our two nations shall not go to war against each other

2) That our two nations will protect and safeguard each other, and aid each other if either is attacked.

3) That our two national militaries will undergo regular joint training.

4) That neither of our two nations shall declare war without first informing the other.

5) That neither of our two nations shall attempt to undermine the other's economy, government or military.'
