The vibe i got before intelligence agency formed was more of an lib-left one, so leaning towards anarchist communes
Now though it seems to be leaning into usual Marxist/Marxist-Leninist state that starts with good intentions and then ideals become corrupted because "Revolution must be protected no matter what" and that generally turns into making dissidents disappear.

... Just hope i won't start a debate here, not mentally geared for a proper political talk despite bringing that up myself.

It stands for Accelerated Tungsten Kinetic Orbital System. It's a "Rods from God" or kinetic bombardment weapon. Basically, giant rods of solid tungsten are attached to a satellite. You deorbit the rods onto your target. When they connect they cause a big boom, with no fallout. Simple and clean. Expensive though, and impossible to reload AFAIK.

"Kronomia also has a history of isolationism. However, this conflict in Jiyutera has dire implications for the whole world. Access to Historium, and the proliferation of the mineral, will be determined by the outcome of this conflict. Questions of global intervention and world-policing have been raised. The answers to these questions, determined by the outcome of this conflict, will affect all nations, even the most isolated. So my question to you is: will you play a part in answering these questions, or will you have others answer them for you?"

Multiple flashes shot across the sky above the ocean, its haste not being able to be understated. They rushed across the sky with the same speed it had last time, the only speed it can muster at all.

While the ICBMs launched from the Midsee begin to reach the outer edges of the atmosphere and the inner edges of space, the beam skimmed across the atmosphere like how a pebble would skip across a body of water. The warhead disintegrated when the short burst flashed through it, forcing the warhead to become unusable and undetonatable. In a similar fashion and within the next five minutes, all of the fifteen warheads launched by Jiyutera against itself was forced out of commission and the multi-object killvehicles that were on standby across Jiyutera stood down.

Back on the ground...or ocean, the Federation's troops conducted a landing across various points on the island. There were minimal weapons brought along and landing vehicles mainly contained firefighting equipment. Waterbombers screamed across the sky above the raging infernos with the troops on the ground in an attempt to control the fire before it got too out of hand.

Eventually it was contained and the island brought back under the rule of the Communes.

President Teris just received word. It appears there's a new apocalyptic space weapon in town. And the Jiyuterans went with heat lasers instead of giant metal sticks. Very sophisticated. Probably designed and launch before the civil war. Finally, whenever some sanctimonious diplomat from whatever unenlightened backwater country preaches against the dangers of ATKOS, we can retort with: but WATABOUT Jiyutera's space weapon? HA! CHECKMATE!

Shall we call for an international conference to jerk each other off about how bad space weapons are? The thought gives Teris a good chuckle.

Better to take the high road on this one. Space lasers cause massive infernos, but rods from god don't! Yeah, we'll go with that narrative. HA!!

Okay but seriously, those crazy bastards have space lasers now. That's a problem.

No one has built one. They might actually just be impossible to build, because you need absurdly strong materials to do so.

Cool, thanks.

The members of the CIC have recently learned about the new Jiyutera space lasers, and are discussing the matter.
Industrial Councilor 1- "See Frank! I told you that we it was real! Think about how awesome it would be to have a giant sp— Job opportunity like this! We could get the best minds from across Hakelforge and create the best loo— most effective WMD Libertas has ever seen!"
IC Frank- "Hold it there Raafe, isn't this a job for the HMC and HSA to discuss?"
IC Raafe- "Are you joking? They're always going on and on about "rail guns" and "tungsten". Now that's crazy! Who do they think is gonna pay for it?"
IC 3- "Well, we could always begin construction on a space elevator. That would open up a whole new world of possibilities for the space industry."
IC 4- "I think Silas makes a good point. If we build a space elevator not only do we open up a whole new industry related to space, the construction itself would pour money into industries from material design and construction to health and science."
Raafe- "So, what you two are saying is that with a space elevator we could do both?"
IC 4- "I suppose so, but I think both wou—"
IC 5- "So it's settled then! We'll contact the HSA and HSRaEC to them that we're building a space elevator to open up new industries and possibilities for Hakelforge is this era of conflict! Silas, Raafe, and Frank, you three are in charge of this, go contact CBLOS to get this thing official!"
As they reach the door IC 5 shouts at them- "And don't forget to tell the PRM, they'll have a field day!"
"A field day?" -mutters Frank- "With what they'll promise, it'll be impossible to sweep this under the rug if this ever goes sideways..."

Official Message from Hakelforge Public Relations Ministry
In light of rising tensions in the world and new "space weapons" being developed, Hakelforge's Chief Industrial Council has decided that it is time for Hakelforge to invest in the space industry. While military measures are certainly being discussed, the CIC hopes that through the design and construction of a new "space elevator" the industry can be opened up to new and cheaper commercial uses. With new and safe travel into space, only time will tell what advancements will come of this.
End of HPRM Message

A councilor turns off the TV while the rest look worried.
SRaE Councilor 1- "They don't really expect us to do this do they?"
SRaEC 2- "Of course not, it's just the PRM. Quick call CBLOS so we can sweep this under the rug."
SRaEC 3 rushes in panicking- "THE CIC JUST SAID THEY'RE GONNA BUILD A SPACE ELEVATOR!!! OFFER THE PRM WHATEVER THEY WANT—"
SRaEC 4- "It's too late, we just saw the official announcement."
SRaEC 3- "But I just got the message!"
SRaEC 5- "The idiots must have left everyone a message. Either the CIC is really serious about this or it's being headed by fools."
SRaEC 3- "They sounded pretty excited, whatever that means."
SRaEC 1- "It means we have to do this. May the Hammer help us."

An HSA aide walks calmly into the office of the HSA's Head, Director Tanner, and lays a memo on to his desk.
Aide- "Raafe Hardwood from the CIC sent this for you, sir."
Director Tanner look over the paper and laughs.
Tanner- "By the Hammer, if they pull this thing together we'll be swimming in more funding than we've ever seen! Call the PRM and tell them to issue a statement immediately!"
Aide- "They've informed me they've already done so, sir. I can get you a copy of the message if you'd like."
Director Tanner- "I can get that myself, for now call the NSRC."
Aide- "But sir, if we—"
Director Tanner- "Will get wrapped up in more red tape than a knife fight in a bandage factory, I know. The more regulated this is the longer this goes on and the more publicity we'll get! Oh, this will keep us very well funded for a very long time. Once you do that get everyone into a conference room somewhere, we need to talk logistics!"

Okay. I am/was aware. I had no intention of it being completed.

Jiyutera

The council meets again.

The dust had finally settled a few days ago, and the Commune seemed more stable than ever with the public announcement of both the destruction of the counter-revolutionaries and the reveal of the R4C laser. The rupture in the Jiyuteran Peace was patched, and it seemed that everything would be alright.

So naturally, the question of what to do with historium came up in passing during some random argument during the vote to carry out the attack on the counter-revolutionaries, and that topic threatened to rupture the peace once again. It has proven time and time again to be a great boon to Jiyutera on the world stage, but it also seems to be the reason the nation is in any danger nowadays. See: Kronomian invasion of Jiyutera.

It was evident that the policy of hoarding it all was ineffective, and incredibly evident (painfully so) that it's only putting the Federation in a great deal of danger. Therefore even though there was ample resistance to the cause, it was eventually decided that Jiyutera should now begin to export the wonder mineral of historium. The money made from this could ensure Jiyutera's place in the world as a genuine superpower, and you know money is always tempting.

The Commune publicly announces its intention to sell the mineral at a cripplingly expensive price.

So what is historium anyways?

Basic explanation is "Uranium with twice the benefits and no drawbacks", alternatively we have occasionally called it uranium-squared too.
