Personally I like turtles. Some years back I purchased all the equipment to house a couple of turtles, but before I bought the actual turtles, I asked a friend who had recently gotten a B.S. in biology, to talk me out of it--I know he had kept turtles. He said they're smelly, require a lot of work, and grow to be over a foot long. (He had released his big turtles in a pond for their own good and hoped for the best.) I returned all the equipment and never got any turtles.

As someone who owned turtles, I can confirm all of this.

Right now, I just have a dog and a cat. Fleas are becoming a problem, so gotta figure that one out. Baths and sprays don't seem to be working.

Oral remedies for fleas are available. Consult your vet.

Fortunately for me music ran in my Mother's side of the family.

I see.
I meant like, when people clap along, in time with the beat of the music they're hearing. Everybody can do that. It's impossible to get it wrong.

I wish I could have a pet.

I often can't follow along with the beat of music. Particularly if there's a lot of instruments and/or vocals involved. I have a lot of difficulty focusing on specific sounds when there's other sounds going on at the same time.

I came across my high school notes from a course I took (many years ago) called "Music Theory and Harmony." I couldn't believe what I was doing in that class. I don't even understand those notes now. And I was composing and arranging songs for orchestration. I couldn't even begin to do that today and I don't know how I did it then. "What you don't use, you lose." I sure lost it.

It is apparent that Voxija is wise beyond her years. My kind of gal.

I have to beg to differ on that one, I used to play in a group and sometimes if we played a particular favourite of the audience they would clap along some times slightly out of sync with the speed we were playing, it was really difficult to keep going and it used to crack me up.

Perhaps they could with a metronome or emphasized beat

OK, we gypsies are patriots who like fireworks and yesterday 2 people complained about our lavish display. I suppose we should be grateful that the police weren't summoned, but a few small pieces of feather weight wood falling on their property shouldn't have warranted them shouting at us. Or knocking on our door. You'd think they'd appreciate all the money we spent and how beautiful our display was.

Gypsies have it hard over here too. Government proposed if Gypsies looked suspicious then they could legally be arrested. I mean I'm aware that there are quite a few bad apples ruining your people's reputation but seriously, it's the 21st century, not everyone's the same.

Down here where I live fireworks are illegal. Thankfully, it's just at the county level.

Oh, they're illegal here, too, but that shouldn't put a damper on anyone's celebration!

They were illegal here, but recently got off the ban when we left our drought.

Uploaded my first original sci-fi story if anyone wants to read.

I did.
You're brilliant.

I've been a critic before, but when you ask opinions, that's what you get. Nevertheless, you show universe-building imagination, witty dialogues. And - a plus - good vocabulary for me to learn.
I'm from the Iberian Peninsula. Not all of us here are from the Midwest, you know.
Just... don't call me a Spaniard.

Now seriously, CCR. Get that stuff published. You're an accomplished writer in my book.

I would but I’m busy with so many things at the moment. Especially since I’m a teenager with school.

Karamuru's post made me read it, too. I'm highly NOT into SciFi. The fact that I actually read the whole thing should speak for itself; I usually put down scifi after the first paragraph.

So I'm not the one whose opinion should matter much. However, I did write a couple of short stories back in the day--nothing published. They were, shall we say, more along the lines of a Stephen King type.

So I'll say this: I liked the first person thing. The best phrase was that is was so grand it could give your eyes an erection--fabulous! The dialog seemed very natural. Of course, being an American, the terms "mate" and "bloody" seemed strange.

All in all, I liked it.

And the above post is exactly why I cancelled the embassy with KANYE NATO.

Not that I don't appreciate potty humor when it's funny. But when it's just juvenile? Nope.

The poll intrigues me. Voxija polled earlier that she was still in high school. Maybe she's jerking our chains and has been a teacher in high school all along!

Will we ever know the answer?

I’m not sure but yea I do know that poll that Voxija voted that they were in either middle school or high school. It might be possible that he might just be a high school teacher though and it might be funny.

Post self-deleted by Voxija.

Oh, you were gonna tell us, weren't you, and then decided to delete it.

I tend to favor pets with a intelligence. Pets that connect and react. In my humble opinion, a cat or even a gerbil is better than a turtle or an iguana or a goldfish in a bowl.
A meaningful hot blood. A nervous system. Signs of intelligence no matter what they say. Unlike cold-hearted blooded animals, they can be taught.
