The Third Empire of Yourson is a colossal, orderly nation, ruled by Bob I with an iron fist, and remarkable for its public floggings, frequent executions, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 4.879 billion Sonans are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nitro City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 36.1%.

The very strong sonn economy, worth 361 trillion carls a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Automobile Manufacturing, Basket Weaving, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 74,119 carls, with the richest citizens earning 6.1 times as much as the poorest.

Frustrated teenage boys are told that if they like it then they should have put a ring on it, a favorite "life hack" for gap year backpackers is to pretend to be homeless for government handouts, back-alley circumcision clinics are popping up all over the nation, and billions of carls are spent to take high-quality photos of the Dog Nebula. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yourson's national animal is the dog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Yourson is ranked 90,077^th in the world and 3^rd in UEPU for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 1,065.22 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
