The Republic of War Dens is a massive, efficient nation, renowned for its compulsory military service and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.206 billion War Densians are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

The medium-sized, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 21.8%.

The very strong War Densian economy, worth 65.2 trillion Gilds a year, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Book Publishing, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 54,070 Gilds, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 152,628 per year while the poor average 15,333, a ratio of 10.0 to 1.

Crime, especially youth-related, is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. War Dens's national animal is the Wolf.

War Dens is ranked 210,372^nd in the world and 7^th in The Grey Wardens for Lowest Crime Rates, with 56.99 law-abiding acts per hour.
