The Holy Nationstates Friendship of Valanora is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Lathwen Raynor with an even hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls, daily referendums, and complete lack of prisons. The compassionate, cheerful population of 41.561 billion Vanorians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Policy, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Raynor City. The average income tax rate is 88.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Vanorian economy, worth a remarkable 4,994 trillion gold bars a year, is led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Tourism, and Basket Weaving. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 120,175 gold bars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.5 times as much as the poorest.

Older AIs regularly threaten to send newer generation AIs to Reform Programming if caught rounding up instead of down, the nation's atlases tend to go out of date every few weeks, history textbook pages are used as impromptu tissues by distraught students, and hordes of unemployed lumberjacks have resorted to cutting down utility poles to satisfy their cravings. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Valanora's national animal is the Blue Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Elunism.

Valanora is ranked 28,215^th in the world and 7^th in Arrosia for Lowest Crime Rates, with 88.52 law-abiding acts per hour.
