The Isle of Vaiana is a mammoth, safe nation, ruled by Lord Ben Dormax with an even hand, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape and compulsory military service. The hard-working, democratic population of 9.621 billion Vaianans have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vaiashtot. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.7%.

The strong Vaianan economy, worth 579 trillion barzels a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Woodchip Exports, Retail, and Automobile Manufacturing. Average income is 60,221 barzels, with the richest citizens earning 6.3 times as much as the poorest.

Lord Ben Dormax has just been declared ruler of Vaiana in an international press conference, Tehol-Elism has been named as Vaiana's national religion, children deemed 'disorderly' or otherwise unfit for public schools are shipped off to military academies, and helicopter parenting is on the rise. Crime, especially youth-related, is well under control. Vaiana's national animal is the dolphin, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to heavy metals seepage into national waterways, and its national religion is Tehol-Elism.

Vaiana is ranked 183,514^th in the world and 4^th in Hoi4 PCM for Lowest Crime Rates, with 59.18 law-abiding acts per hour.
