The Mellow Mountain States of Upper Calcutta

The Mellow Mountain States of Upper Calcutta (কলকাতা পর্বতাঞ্চল), commonly referred to as Upper Calcutta, is a Democratic Socialist Republic in India. Upper Calcutta is an landlocked nation surrounded by The Himalayan Mountain range in the north that it also includes, and the Gangetic Plains in the South. Upper Calcutta is governed as a single state under the combined executive and legislative Assembly, with local municipal governments given considerable autonomous power.

Upper Calcutta is a massive, efficient nation, renowned for its avant-garde cinema, complete lack of prisons, and multi-spousal wedding ceremonies. The compassionate, democratic population of 1.208 billion Upper Calcuttans are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large, liberal, outspoken government prioritizes Education, although Healthcare, Industry, and Welfare are also considered important, while Spirituality is ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Darjeeling. The average income tax rate is 67.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

Since its formation on 1480 BT, Upper Calcutta has grown rapidly, developing a sizable population, economy, and military force. Upper Calcutta is notable for its high-speed rail system, fervent patriotism, unemployment, and trained air force.

Technology, Education and Rationalist are at the center of Upper Calcutta's ideals. Efficiency is believed to be the key to developing economic success. Upper Calcutta's roads and railways are maintained to perfection, and intrastate trading is strongly encouraged as a duty.

Education is heavily emphasized, with a focus on internships and apprenticeships. It is said that the government encourages the population to understand and enjoy life rather than to get caught up in trade.
Upper Calcutta maintains a small but capable military, with most of the military might entrusted to the Upper Calcutta Special Forces, highly-trained soldiers compartmentalized into autonomous squads. Upper Calcutta boasts of a massive air force with upgraded machinery and tactical weapons.

Upper Calcutta is widely regarded as the capital of clean energy, with substantial uranium deposits and the pioneering of wind and solar technologies. Virtually all of Upper Calcutta's energy needs are provided by clean energy.
