The Dominion of The Training Grounds is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. The quiet, industrious population of 7.291 billion Training Groundsians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Education. The average income tax rate is 28.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Training Groundsian economy, worth 235 trillion golds a year, is quite specialized and dominated by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Uranium Mining. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 32,232 golds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.4 times as much as the poorest.

Organ donation is compulsory, it is illegal to make racist remarks in public, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, and UFO sightings are listed daily in the morning news. Crime, especially youth-related, is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Training Grounds's national animal is the dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

The Training Grounds is ranked 304,801^st in the world and 1^st in The Training Grounds for Highest Average Incomes, with 32,232.11 Standard Monetary Units.
