The Incorporated States of The ghosts is a mammoth, pleasant nation, notable for its burgeoning Kitsune population. The hard-working population of 5.757 billion ghostsians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 17.5%.
The ghostsian economy, worth 259 trillion Delta Eagles a year, is led by the Furniture Restoration industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 45,056 Delta Eagles, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.6 times as much as the poorest.
Crime is relatively low, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The ghosts's national animal is the Kitsune, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.
The ghosts is ranked 131,664th in the world and 2nd in The Gate for Least Corrupt Governments, with 93.2 percentage of bribes refused.
