The Brewery of Suedwest is a massive, genial nation, ruled by CEO Dr Alexander Reich with a fair hand, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, national health service, and suspicion of poets. The democratic population of 1.833 billion Suedwester hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Welfare, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Schaumbad-Nippel. The average income tax rate is 15.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Suedwester economy, worth 90.0 trillion Eastsea Crowns a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Pizza Delivery, Arms Manufacturing, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 49,113 Eastsea Crowns, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.7 times as much as the poorest.

Photographers can be found hiding behind the curtains in CEO Dr Alexander Reich's bedroom, the government provides its citizenry with the same mass produced rations, Jennifer Government is a bestseller, and economists have been named Invertebrates of the Year. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Suedwest's national animal is the Küstenbock, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Beer Purity Law.

Suedwest is ranked 66,907^th in the world and 3^rd in World of NationStates for Nicest Citizens, with 16.29 average smiles per day.
