The Federation of SOULS12 is a titanic, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its ban on automobiles, disturbing lack of elderly people, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 22.757 billion SOULS12ians enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The tiny government prioritizes Administration, with Welfare also on the agenda, while Defense and Spirituality receive no funds. The average income tax rate is 8.3%.

The SOULS12ian economy, worth 341 trillion Deneroes a year, is highly specialized and led by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Book Publishing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Cheese Exports. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 14,992 Deneroes, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.7 times as much as the poorest.

The national government has been dissolved by revolutionary insurgents, enemy navies sail within bombardment range of major coastal cities with impunity, election results are often delayed for weeks to count the expat votes, and the state is footing the bill for billionaires' lawyers. Crime is a problem, probably because of the absence of a police force. SOULS12's national animal is the Scorpion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

SOULS12 is ranked 324,938^th in the world and 5^th in Summer for Most Extensive Public Healthcare, scoring zero on the Theresa-Nightingale Rating.
