. "It's like just weird to me how this country which is composed of multiple ethnic groups, follow multiple
. religions, and is split by the seas have managed to stay united and be at peace with each other for a really
. long time, while other historic countries couldn't do the same."

. ― Sir Grass during a speech

Sir Mark David Villamor Grass, better known by his alias Sir Bulletploof Grass, is a Filipino who was a former politician, Air Force pilot, and criminal. He served as the 7th president of the Philippines from his inauguration on June 30, 2014 to June 30, 2022. Born on September 16, 1980, he is a member of the Philippine Communist Party. During the Great Fish War, he became a Major in the Air Force and served as the flight leader of the 156th Tactical Fighter Squadron of the 1st Pacific Air Division.

Born and raised in Bacoor, Calabarzon, and later spending his adult life in the capital Manila, Metro Manila, Grass studied at the University of the Philippines Diliman until he dropped out in 2006 to pursue a military career. Throughout his time in University he committed several felonies ranging from driving over the speed limit to reckless driving in busy roads with his 1999 Nissan Skyline 25GT-t ER34, which he still keeps to this day. After spending time on the streets of Metro Manila street racing during the night and passing classes in the day, he and a couple of friends dropped out from the University to join the military. His military career early on was pretty uneventful aside from the watered cockpit incident, and then the Great Fish War started. Suddenly his friend was shot down which gave him his reason to fight. Throughout the war he was promoted from a Captain to a Major. He and his squadron were given various awards for their heroic deeds during the war. In 2010 he and his friends would split off and pursue their own goals in life, but not before being pardoned for their heroic deeds from the Great Fish war. For four years from 2010-2014 he stayed in Manila trying to find a purpose in life after leaving the military, taking on the job of a cashier at Jollibee. Eventually he had the idea to run for president during the 2014 elections. At this point he was putting himself out there on the stage for people to gaze upon. He revealed information about himself such as his political beliefs in the last ten years and his goals and policies for the country to gain the trust of the people.

He won the 2014 elections with a narrow margin. During his first term he further improved the country's infrastructure by building more highways and connecting more cities. He implemented some economic reforms as well to further help the economy improve, resulting in a bigger budget for the government. With this new increased budget they allocated most of it to education, science, and the military. A sizable portion was also allocated for welfare to decrease homelessness and to achieve the goal of high living standards for everyone. The country was hit with multiple natural disasters during his term but the response rate of his administration helped in recovering from the calamities. One of his most famous acts was the Communications Infrastructure Act of 2016 where a large communication array was built in Cebu. It improved the speed of the internet in the country and would also double as a jamming device should anyone try to invade them. During his first term the number of units stationed in the Southeast Asian Sea also increased.

After winning re-election in the 2018 Philippine presidential elections, Sir Grass was sworn in for a second term. During this term, he changed his goals to build a sustainable eco-friendly energy supply. He started to clamp down on fossil fuels in the country and replaced them with nuclear plants or renewable energy. Prior to this he also participated in the 2015 Paris Agreement on global climate change, improved relations with various countries and sent foreign aid to countries in need. Following the Circum-Pacific War he created the International Community Intervention Force with Prime Minister Ross of Cayenne Minor as a means to stop future large scale conflicts from happening. Despite this he has authorized the research for an aerial fleet by the military. During Sir Grass's terms in office, the Philippine economy, significantly improved. Sir Grass's presidency has generally been regarded favorably, and evaluations of his presidency among historians, political scientists, and the general public frequently place him among the upper tier of modern world leaders.

Family background

The Grass family migrated from Boston in New England, to the Philippines first settling in Legazpi, Albay in 1902, and in 1929 moved to Caloocan City in Metro Manila. Sir Grass's Legazpi Laurentian ancestors, who were primarily some sort of politician, included Vincent Charlie Grass of Boston, who migrated to Legazpi, Albay, in 1902.

Vincent's son, Dominic H. Grass (1942-2004), Sir Grass's father, was a college-educated engineer, despite his own father Vicente's urging to run for a political position. Sir Grass's mother, Maria Gloria (Villamor) Grass, born in Laoag, of predominantly Spanish-Maharlikan ancestry, moved to Caloocan from Ilocos Norte. She married Dominic on September 25, 1964, in Bacoor, Calabarzon, on the Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Church. Sir Grass's lineage also included English ancestors (paternal line) and Spanish-Maharlikan ancestors (through his maternal line).

Early life and education

Mark David Villamor Grass was born on September 16, 1980, in Bacoor, Cavite, being the first and only son in his family. As a child, he exhibited good behavior unless left alone. When left to himself he usually toys with anything in his surrounding, to combat this behavior his father left specific toys out in the open so Grass would play with those instead of some sort of dangerous object. Aside from playing with the toys his father left him he also liked to play tag. His running speed in tag eventually earned him the nickname "Bullet," which he also used as a nickname during his time as a street racer and as an inspiration for his ex-criminal alias "Bulletploof."

His father Dominic would show him things he worked on, usually vehicles and miniature aircraft. He often "helped" his father work on cars by holding the flashlight for him. Despite being against war his father also had a collection of miniature military aircraft. All of these sparked the young Grass's early and interest in cars and military aviation, which eventually led to his street racing and military career. For his 15th birthday his dad bought him a PlayStation with a copy of Namco's Air Combat which furthered his affinity for aircraft. He started his own collection to surpass his father's a year later. Grass also expressed interest in mathematics and science, particularly the subject of astronomy.

Grass attended Bacoor National High School and graduated with the class of 1998. As a freshman he made new friends whom he eventually went to college with. He left his family's home in the summer of 1998 to move in the capital and study there with his friends. However the state of the government in 1998 made it so that education was underfunded due to graft and corruption. Due to this he started neglecting part of his education to participate in car meets and illegal street races. The aftermath of the 2000 EDSA Revolution and the policies of the Quezon administration improved the economy and it allowed it to fund many things throughout the country, with its priority being education. Due to this he started taking his education seriously again but the effects of the corrupt rule during 1998-2000 have already taken a toll on him and he continued street racing while studying.

Criminal activity

Even though his parents raised him well and instilled good values in him, Grass still went on to commit crimes in the late 90s and early 2000s. One night he saw a group of students go to a car meet to partake in illegal street racing. He followed them to the meet and asked if he could join them, the problem was his only car was a 1995 Nissan Sentra Super Saloon B14. Luckily for him one of the street racers, Nicholas Christopher Z. Ignacio, let him borrow his 1995 Toyota Supra MK IV to see his potential. Grass lost the race and nearly crashed the car but he finished in 2nd place. Ignacio saw potential in him and took Grass under his wing if he wanted to. Grass accepted the offer and they trained together after classes during the night, he was also recruited into the crew Ignacio was a part of, Alakdan. Some time later he became a decent driver and started winning races to earn money to buy his own ride. He bought a blue 1999 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R Aero and he tuned it up.

In April 2003 the safehouse which housed Grass's Silvia was raided by the MPD. All the cars inside were confiscated and impounded. To keep on racing he and Alakdan restored a 1999 Nissan Skyline 25GT-t ER34. This car saw many more uses than the Silvia due to its participation in various other crimes besides street racing. The car was involved in smuggling, drug trafficking, drive-by shootings, gunrunning, and most notably heists. His gang of friends, the Damuhan Gang, joined the crew to help him in crimes that involved violence. Grass and his crew earned a good sum of money during these years of criminality, with Grass being estimated to have made around ₱1,000,000 to ₱2,400,000.

Illegal street racing

After joining Alakdan he became acquainted with its members. He soon finished training under Ignacio and began street racing on his behalf to earn money for his own car. He eventually bought a blue 1999 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R Aero and he got the mechanic of Alakdan, Joshua A. Da, to tune the car up for him. The Silvia having it's engine swapped with an RB26 ended up making 452 horsepower and had a top speed of about 324 kilometers per hour. After getting more money he added a body kit and a livery to make the car recognizable, the complete opposite of what a criminal is supposed to do. But he didn't care, stating that he "lived for that street cred."

Overtime he attained a higher reputation in the street, the crowds in car meets eventually started calling him "Bullet" due to his reckless and quick driving. He also started developing feelings for Madeline K. Dominguez, a female street racer in the same crew as him. During his time training under Ignacio he usually raced against Dominguez as a competent opponent for him to fight against. Even though Grass got better at driving he still couldn't beat Dominguez so she asked Grass out to the Tagaytay Tōge to teach him how to master the drift. They went to Tagaytay together and started developing a closer relationship. Eventually by the end of the first week of April 2000, Grass was able to pass Dominguez after extensive training.

The time right after his training finished marked the highest point in his street racing career. He was involved in all sorts of antics, most notably jumping a drawbridge and barely dodging a train. Grass also frequently participated in sprint races, speedtraps, time attacks, and Tōge racing for the MMDA. He dominated much of the scene so much that rival crews began to get frustrated at him and Alakdan. The police also started taking notice as well and they set up a bounty on him.

On the evening of January 23, 2002, Dominguez and Grass are on their way back to the Alakdan safehouse after a street race. As they raced each other a different crew of street racers started hitting the side of Grass's Silvia. The two tried to get away but the group kept up with them. Conveniently, the Mabini Drawbridge was being lifted as they approached it. Grass suggested using it as a means to get away by using the NOS spray near the very end to get enough speed to jump the gap. Dominguez seeing no other choice agreed and they both jumped the bridge. The stunt made the police even more wary of the street racing scene in the capital and they started issuing bounties on known street racers and further increased Grass's bounty.

On February 17, Grass is on the run again as he is chased down not only by the same group of street racers from January 23 but also by the police. He races through the majority of Circumferential Road 3 before taking a detour to escape. He rushes through the streets of Santol before proceeding into Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard to use an incoming train to escape both parties. The train nearly hit him while the cops and street racers pursuing were assumed to have crashed into the side of the train. In response to his continued danger on public roads the police increased his bounty.

In March 2003 a race was held in the entirety of Metro Manila to decide which crew gets most of the turf in the city. During the race another racer bumps into the back of Dominguez's 1997 Mazda RX-7 Type RS-R, causing it to lose control and crash. Grass quickly turned back around to rescue his girlfriend but she later died in his arms that night. Grass unable to bear the pain decided to attempt suicide by driving off the Tagaytay Tōge. Fortunately his crew was able to stop him, but not before he blew his engine while attempting to outrun them. Grass having lost his girlfriend and his engine not only was heartbroken but was also full of sorrow that night.

With the S15's SR20 out of commission Da decided to replace it with an RB26, this however would take a while to build. Meanwhile Ignacio heard of rumors about the fateful race that night and relayed the information to Grass. Grass is intrigued and quickly wants the S15 fixed so he can race again to gather information from other racers about the race. He narrows down the killers to two individuals from the Tiradores crew, Jacob Eduardo Raymundo and Randy Pacalding. Since the S15 was yet to be repaired he confronts them himself with some members of Alakdan and gets into a standoff. The standoff was resolved peacefully though.

After racing against Pacalding and then Raymundo he learns that they were simply lackeys to the mastermind: Albert Rodrigo Herrero, a member of Bulalakaw. Grass urges Alakdan for a push into Bulalakaw territory and they hit them hard. Eventually on June 22, 2003 he is able to duel Herrero in what would be the last battle of the S15. In the final stretch his engine blew again but he was able to cross the finish line first. Herrero tells Grass the truth of why the events that took place that night happened, wherein via this plan of killing off some decent street racers in that race Alakdan would be weakened and Bulalakaw could sweep away all the other racing crews afterwards, and then disestablish street racing so his brother, the then incumbent mayor of Quezon City, could have a higher chance to win a reelection.

Grass is understandably heavily aggravated and starts to tackle him to the ground, no one around really knew what to do as even Herrero's fellow crew members didn't know of this plan and were shocked too. Eventually Grass's boss Julio Jonathan Santos hands him the same gun he used prior. Grass hesitates to shoot for a bit but eventually listens to that voice in his head, emptying the entire magazine on Herrero's head. Seeing his disfigured face and the blood on his hands Grass immediately runs towards the Taal Lake trying to cleanse himself but he is unable to. Ignacio approached and consoled him shortly afterwards. This night would have a lasting effect on Grass as the first time he committed murder.

In early 2005 he started using his ER34 in other crimes such as drug trafficking. Grass invited his friends, the Damuhan Gang, into the crew for them to man the car during drive-by shootings. He stopped using the car after he and his friends were defeated by future Weenusiwanian Hokage Tomithy at the entrance to Malinta Tunnel on Corregidor Island. The car was abandoned and hid in alleyway and he left behind the MMDA, but the Damuhan Gang followed him into military service. During his time in the military he requested a custom livery for his Su-33 inspired by his ER34's livery.

Other crimes

Alakdan's primary purpose was to perform in illegal street racing for money and fame, be it in the city or the tōge. In December 2004 its members had a meeting about other forms of criminal activity. In the meeting they agreed that in the next year they would start partaking in more crimes and they ended the meeting with the statement "New year, new crew." The various drivers of the crew including Grass became wheelmen for crime syndicates. In early 2005 he usually only conducted smuggling operations in his car but as time went on he went on to do riskier crimes such as heists and gang violence.

On July 25, 2005 he was tasked to be the driver for the Tarub Syndicate for their heist in Makati. The Tarub members entered the Bank of Makati at around 1845 hours and they headed back to Grass's ER34 around five minutes later. Prior to the start of the heist they stole a police radio to listen in to the SPD's communications. With this Grass successfully evaded all the roadblocks and spike strips set in place by the SPD to apprehend them. On his way to CAVITEX the ER34 was almost destroyed as two police SUVs nearly rammed it head on to force the car to stop. On CAVITEX they were pursued by a police helicopter armed with ESD harpoons. Grass tried to avoid it by slamming the brakes but to no avail. He quickly asked one of the Tarub members to hold the wheel steady so he can pull it out while it hasn't fully affected the car yet. The police almost caught up to them and the ER34 nearly crashed on the expressway twice but Grass pulled it out and shoved it in the direction of the helicopter, hitting it. After this he drove off the expressway to hide and get away. After the heist he gained notoriety not just from Tarub but from other crime syndicates as well for his ability to drive, even under challenging circumstances.

On March of 2006 he got into a series of chases and fights with Tomithy Otsutsuki, a man he would later save from captivity 2 years later. Tomithy was spotted by the Damuhan Gang in Biñan, Calabarzon, after which they immediately chased him due to the fact that he had a ₱20,000 bounty on his head. Tomithy stole a bike which Grass would return to the owner later after following him to SM City Bacoor and attempting to fight him in the one of the bathrooms, only for him to be bribed with drug money. After running again he boards a helicopter and escapes.

The following day the Damuhan Gang were present in the Corregidor ruins, the headquarters of the Tarub Syndicate. They were going to have a meeting on the next crime they would commit when suddenly three UH-60 Black Hawks appeared with Tomithy and "Uncle Ron" on board. They wrecked havoc on the thugs and gangsters hanging out in the ruins until Grass used a FIM-92 Stinger to shoot down one of the Black Hawks, which made the remaining two land for the operatives to capture the island and the leaders of Tarub. Eventually the Damuhan Gang encountered Tomithy, immediately fighting him. Aguilar, Capus, and Lacsao were knocked out with Grass remaining, the two have a grand battle but Tomithy comes out on top after whacking Grass in the head.

After this the Damuhan Gang saw it as the end of their criminal career. They went under the radar for a while and started changing their identities to avoid arrest.

When Sir Grass was street racing in Manila, he met Madeline K. Dominguez, another street racer. They immediately fell in love with each other due to their driving style, Sir Grass was reckless and fast while Madeline was calm and collected which made for a very interesting pair. He proposed for her to become his girlfriend on Valentine's Day in 2003, which she accepted. They didn't wed early on due to the fact that they weren't ready, but they planned on doing it in the future. That plan however was cut short due to Madeline's untimely death in a car accident on February 13, 2005. Sir Grass, unable to let go, has never courted another woman after Madeline's death.

When his father died of cardiac arrest in 2004 he was shocked. He attended the funeral with his friends and Alakdan, but he only told people that the MMDA were his other friends at school. For three months he didn't participate in any street races and continued to mourn his father. A few years later in 2009 his mother also died at age 68, she was caught in the crossfire during a bank robbery.

Grass was a car enthusiast, being in the tuner scene he was part of a crew of street races known as the MMDA. He participated in many races with his crewmates and friends, although he wasn't able to shout it to the world due to it changing his status from honest student to hardened criminal. He and his crew had various safehouses where they'd store their vehicles and hang out, one of which were raided by the Manila Police Department.

Mathematics was one of Sir Grass's hobbies. He thought the feeling of solving a hard problem after a lot of critical thinking was really refreshing. He began liking Math after watching his mother help him with homework in the 4th grade. In order to relax, Sir Grass made his own problems often with a dumb subject and he either solved it himself or got a friend to try it and teach them along the way. Another hobby he recently acquired was video games. Because he only learned about it in recent years he has to juggle between his presidency and video games. During his free time he would play video games with friends or other world leaders who shared the same interest.

Military service

Grass dropped out of college and stopped performing criminal activities in 2006 to lay low with his friends for a while after the Tarub Syndicate was dismantled and its members arrested. After the 2006 Presidential Elections Ernesto Manalastas was elected, who prioritized the military and reducing the crime rate. Grass saw an opportunity and took it. He invited the Damuhan Gang to enlist in the Air Force together, but before that they went through an identity change in order to avoid suspicion.

He was assigned as the flight lead of the 156th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Manalo," a new squadron that would be stationed in JB Pearl Harbor-Hatague. The unit was composed of his college friends whom dropped out with him. He and his squadron participated in many training exercises to further improve their flight skills. Despite the training there were still two incidents due to their incompetence.

On the 27th of August, 2007, Manalo Squadron participated in a training exercise. Their objective was to down all twelve of the training UAVs. However, Capt. Grass's cockpit was filled with water during the exercise by 2d Lt. Aguilar, who thought that by filling his cockpit with water Capt. Grass would no longer be dehydrated. He was right but now Capt. Grass was drowning. He rushed to down all twelve drones as soon as possible, taking them all down in under ten minutes. After the incident he gained the nickname "Water Boy."

After four months on December 12th Capt. Grass smuggled a bunch of cheese-flavored chips into his Su-33. He ate while firing at training UAVs with the Hawaiian air force and Manalo Squadron. Later on during the exercise his instruments started malfunctioning due to the amount of cheese that was in the cockpit. The repair and cleanup crew later worked on his Su-33 until midnight to make sure it is restored to mint condition. He earned the nickname "Keso Peligroso" and was later told to run a hundred laps around the base.

He later also requested a special paintjob for his Su-33, a livery akin to that of his ER34 which prompted several questions from his superiors. He and his squadron went through interrogation to see if they were criminals but they found nothing. Capt. Grass also stated that he just "really liked the guy's designs but hates the crimes he commits."

The Fish War

Before the start of the war Capt. Grass and the rest of his squadron were participating in a training exercise on March 25, 2008 over Honolulu alongside the rest of the 1st Pacific Air Division. It was just another day for them when suddenly sentient humanoid Fish people started attacking the city. Capt. Grass seeing a large number of fighters orders Manalo Squadron to retreat but not before a small flight of enemy fighters engaged them, they triumph over the enemy fighters but before they could get a chance to retreat an Indigo Squadron aircraft comes out of the blue and shoots down 1st Lt. Aguilar. After their engagement they fled to the BSPRP Kuwago and then they were moved to Villamor Air Base due to the takeover of their HQ at JB Pearl Harbor-Hatague.

. "Papatayin ko silang lahat, para kay Niño!"
. ― Capt. Grass stating his reason to fight

On March 31 the Fishy States started conducting long-ranged attacks against the Philippines in an attempt to secure a beachhead there after they took over Hawaii, most of Polynesia, and parts of Melanesia. Manalo Squadron and the remnants of the 1st Pacific Air Division were tasked to prevent the landing operations in Luzon. They fought fiercely against every invasion and especially so in the Battle of Baler, the largest battle of the war in Philippine territory. Capt. Grass earned the title of ace over the skies of Baler by shooting down eight enemy fighters. Two days later on April 2 he participated in a mission to sink the Fishy fleet that launched fighters to aid in the Battle of Baler, which at this point was fleeing Philippine waters due to the failure of the operation. He took down the fleet together with the 1st Pacific Air Division.

For their efforts in defending the Philippines Capt. Grass and the rest of the 1st Pacific Air Division received a promotion. After becoming a Major his friend, Ronnel De los Reyes, asked to be recruited into the squadron in order to fill in the gap and to avenge a family member who died in the Fishy attacks. Maj. Grass accepted his request and De los Reyes underwent quick training before joining Manalo Squadron on the frontlines.

Coalition counterattack

. "Gagawan nila tayo ng pelikula, 'di ba?"
. ― Maj. Grass referencing the film Wake Island

On April 3 the Philippine military launched a counterattack against Fish forces in Micronesia. As part of this counterattack Manalo Squadron and Engkanto Squadron of the 1st Pacific Air Division were launched from the BSPRP Kuwago of the 4th Philippine Naval Fleet alongside Bal-Bal Team of the Philippine Marine Corps to retake Wake Island from the Fish in order to use it as a forward base to liberate Hawaii, the location of their former headquarters. On their way to the base they engaged enemy fighters that were launched from the airfield. As they inched closer to the base the Fish got more and more desperate, despite their fierce resistance the Fishy fighters were defeated mostly thanks to the efforts of Maj. Grass. Soon after Manalo and Engkanto Squadrons provided close air support for Bal-Bal Team as they conquered the airfield. A day later several units move into the now retaken island for their next operations.

Several days later on April 20 Major Grass, who was now joined by 2d Lt. De los Reyes, lead the charge into the Midway Islands alongside the rest of the 1st Pacific Air Division and Bal-Bal Team. A tough battle ensued between the 1st Pacific Air Division and the Fishy defenders on the islands but the 1st Pacific Air Division emerged victorious. The Fish, running out of ways to fight back, launch Indigo Squadron in a last-ditch attempt to defend Midway. They were shot down thanks to Major Grass, who finally avenged his former wingman, 1st Lt. Aguilar. Maj. Grass earned the nickname "Major of Midway" for his outstanding performance in the operation.

On April 29, Manalo Squadron joined with the 4th Philippine Naval Fleet and the sister submarines the Scinfaxi and Hrimfaxi north of Hawaii. Throughout the following days they intercepted various Fishy units to thin out their numbers for an incoming liberation of Hawaii. By May 2 all Fishy interceptor forces in the immediate area were eliminated and Philippine Marines began landing in Honolulu. The 1st Pacific Air Division was tasked with providing air support for the forces liberating their HQ, Pearl Harbor-Hatague. After liberating the base they briefly landed for resupplying before taking off again that night to support the forces liberating Honolulu next door. After securing their HQ along with the surrounding area the 1st Pacific Air Division proceeded to provide support for the allies around the Hawaiian Islands.

Meeting Garmr

. "Hey, Zero, Pyske, the one with the highest score wins."
. ― Maj. Grass challenging Garmr Team

On May 12, Manalo Squadron sortied to assist the Philippine Army 122nd Airborne Division in retaking the city of Fa'a'ā to establish a forward base in anticipation of the attack on Papeete. This marks Maj. Grass's first encounter with Garmr Team of the Polynesian 6th Air Division. Feeling good about his recent score records, he challenges Zero and Foulke to see who could rack up the highest score in the operation. AWACS Eagle Eye measured the score at the time the operation ended with Zero in first, Foulke in second, and Maj. Grass in third. Maj. Grass sarcastically told Zero that it was all dumb luck before complimenting the duo for their skills as a pilot.

On the evening of the next day Maj. Grass and his squadron aided their allies in Operation Constantine. Most of the occupation troops inside the town were defeated, leading to violent riots against the Fishies through the entire capital. As the Fishy defenders fell, the general in charge of the occupation troops in Polynesia fled the Fishy-controlled headquarters on a plane but he was shot down by Maj. Grass while he was leaving the capital. As the Coalition forces took control of the city Gelb Squadron arrived late into the battle. Manalo Squadron tried to down the two hostiles first but Zero got the kill before they could. Afterwards the 1st Pacific Air Division were invited to a celebration in Nausori Air Base. They all came by and after the celebration Maj. Grass decided he'd wish for his squadron to go on sorties with Garmr to learn from them.

After these heavy defeats the Fish retreated out of Polynesia to consolidate their forces around their heartland in the Pacific. To invade the Fish the Coalition first had to break through the Hydra Line, the Fish's first line of defense. Manalo Squadron sortied with Garmr Team into the Glatisant border region on May 17 under the pretext of a "nuclear weapons inspection." After Area Gate and Area Wall were eliminated, Manalo Squadron refueled on the Hydra Line before splitting from Garmr Team to take out Area Castle. AWACS Eagle Eye announced the operation a success after everyone neutralized the defenses, but suddenly the long-range laser cannon Excalibur fired onto the Coalition planes. Almost everyone was shot down but Manalo Squadron survived along with Garmr Team.

Two days later on May 19 Manalo Squadron sortied with the 1st Pacific Air Division as part of Theta Team to take out enemy fighters at the Challenger Fracture Zone to assist other units in the area. Though they succeeded, the Philippine transport aircraft were shot down by Excalibur. Operations Command ordered an immediate evacuation of all forces but most of the planes were shot down. The only ones that made it through were Manalo Squadron, Garmr Team, and parts of Engkanto and Diwata Squadron. On May 23 they moved on to attack the region of Eltonin to destroy Excalibur. Maj. Grass commanded his squadron to split up to take down the four ECM jamming stations quickly. Then Zero went on to destroy the RTLS allowing all forces to target the power facilities, then Zero proceeds to destroy Excalibur itself and the mission was accomplished.

Operation Battle-Axe

. "Bakit ba tayo pinapunta ng mataas na atasan dito?!"
. "Para tumaas ang bilang ng pinatay ko, malamang."
. ― 2d Lt. De los Reyes and Maj. Grass conversing about Operation Battle-Axe

Early on the 28th of May the Philippines and New Volgo announced their withdrawal from the Coalition's non-aggression treaty and launched Operation Battle-Axe, a coordinated surprise aerial attack on the Oceanic Pole of Inaccessibility, better known as the Round Table. The remnants of the 1st Pacific Air Division were sent in alongside Wizard and Sorcerer Squadrons as well as other New Volgan and Filipino squadrons. The Fishy Air Force was initially caught off-guard, but as time marched on they quickly rebounded and the Philippines and New Volgo started suffering major losses. As a result of this Maj. Grass's squadron mates were shot down but they all ejected safely.

Maj. Grass loss all hope and was reportedly heard to be screaming and swearing incoherently after his squadron was downed, but Garmr arrived just in time to save him. With help from Garmr Maj. Grass survived and helped them tip the balance in the Coalition's favor. As they established air superiority over the Round Table, the Fishy Air Force's "Geneva Violators," the Angler Squadron, arrived into the area of operations. Zero shot down all of Angler Squadron, leading to Maj. Grass calling him the "Demon Lord of the Round Table." It was estimated that despite his mental breakdown Maj. Grass downed thirteen aircraft.

Final days of the war

. "Good soldiers follow orders, right? Right?!"
. ― Maj. Grass questioning Operation Cannibal

As the war turned against the Fishy States their cities in the Atlantic Ocean became increasingly weary and eventually surrendered peacefully to Laurentia and the independent countries. The Southern and Central Heartland of the Fish however were radicalized and showed no signs of surrender, as such the Coalition switched their focus on the Fishy States's weapons industry. As part of this the 1st Pacific Air Division was sent to escort a flight of bombers that were going to strategically bomb the R'lyeh Munitions Factory. However, when they arrived in the city instead of a strategic bombing the situation quickly devolved into a saturation bombing. Maj. Grass looked below and only saw the orange haze of a burning city. As a result of the operation he began to question high command and also had mild amounts of depression.

On June 6, Manalo Squadron was sent with Garmr Team and Crow Team to assist Coalition forces laying siege to Fishy naval units in the East Pacific Ridge. As the squadrons headed for Bass Castle they encountered a Fishy bomber formation carrying nukes headed for Polynesia. The squadrons were redirected to intercept the bombers, since they could not visually confirm which bomber had nuclear weapons they were ordered to shoot down all of them. At some point, a squadron of Fishy separatists entered the area and started firing on the bombers. The pilots ignored them and continued attacking the bombers. All bombers were eventually shot down.

Despite the bombers' destruction, nine T1 nuclear weapons detonated in the East Pacific Ridge around the Fishy Heartland. Communications were disabled, preventing the Coalition forces from discerning the situation. In the ensuing chaos Crow Team fled while Manalo Squadron stayed. As they took out the last escort fighters Foulke suddenly started opening fire on Zero. Manalo Squadron moved in to back up Zero but they were all critically damaged by Foulke and everyone fled the AO except Maj. Grass, who actually managed to land a hit on Foulke. As Fishy reinforcements arrived in the area Zero and Maj. Grass switched their focus and shot them down, meanwhile Foulke disappeared and was declared MIA.

After the nuclear detonations the Coalition forces immediately halted their advance and established contact with Fishy Rence's administration. The Fishy government underwent major changes in anticipation for the surrender and ordered all its forces to cease all fighting. Most followed the order but a more adamant faction continued fighting and set up positions in a base at Mount Sern. On June 13 Manalo Squadron was dispatched alongside the reformed Garmr Team to take out the enemy forces in the area. About a week later on the evening of June 19 they were sent on a covert mission alongside several mercenaries to suppress a rebel force in Bass. As part of the Jupiter Strike Team he engaged the remaining enemy fighters in the area to establish air superiority.

Post-war operations

[insert paragraph about the spheres brigade here because we have not rp'd yet]

As Maj. Grass and his colleagues celebrated Christmas at JB Pearl Harbor-Hatague they received news that a hijacked XB-0 Hresvelgr attacked Sargasso and several coalition-aligned air bases including Garmr Team's base at Nausori. Six days later on December 31 Manalo Squadron partook in Operation Point Blank to draw fire away from Garmr Team as they flew through Mun Valley on their way to Avalon. As Garmr made their way through the valley their allies fell left and right and after distracting the anti-air defenses for a long time Garmr made it through the valley and Zero started taking out the T2 control facilities. As this happened Maj. Grass was shot down but he ejected safely and lived to tell the tale of Foulke and Zero's final duel over Avalon.

The end of the Great Fish War and the AWWNI uprising saw Maj. Grass receive several awards for his service, he was also promoted to a Lieutenant Colonel. After peace was once again restored Lt. Col. Grass went back to his usual schedule of training exercises around Hawaii. He and his squadron had just seen what happens in a real war and how joining the military and being deployed in a conflict far from home and losing someone close to you can change a person. Consumed by the war he became a cold-blooded murderer who only saw what he became during the bombing of R'lyeh, when he saw all the innocent civilians below burn in an inferno he helped come to fruition. Sir Grass later said in an interview that if he had known of AWWNI right after the bombing of R'lyeh he likely would've defected with Foulke.

Return to civilian life

On March 1, 2010, Lt. Col. Grass retired from active duty and returned to civilian life. Before he left though he made sure that he and his squadron were pardoned for their military service. All of them including the deceased Aguilar received a pardon for their service. De los Reyes did not receive a pardon due to his clean record.
