Administrative divisions

The Republic of Scientia is divided into the capital territory, seven regions, one independent city and one department. The seven regions enjoy some degree of autonomy. The independent city has a special status, enjoying a very-high degree of autonomy and being the former capital of the Republic.

The Constitution specifies the country as being a unitary state.

Administrative division of the Republic of Scientia:

Scientian Capital Territory (SCT) - enclaved within the Central Region, it is formed by the new capital city of Scientia - Elysion - and the surrounding Elysian Fields.

The Independent City of Sapientia-Memoria (SMC) - the former capital city and the smallest administrative entity by area. It is comprised of Sapientia-Memoria City and its metropolitan area.

Regions:
1. North-West Region (NW)
2. North-East Region (NE)
3. West Region (WT)
4. East Region (ET)
5. Central Region (CL) - the largest region.
6. South-West Region (SW)
7. South-East Region (SE)

The regions and the capital city are further divided into districts or provinces.
Each region has its own executive body - Regional Government and its own legislative body - Regional Parliament or Assembly, depending on the region. The regional legislatures are all unicameral, unlike the national Parliament which has a bicameral structure. Each region is led by a regional head of government - Regional President.
The Regional Presidents are directly elected by popular vote in some regions or indirectly elected by the regional legislative bodies in others.
