Political System of the Federal Duchy
Duchess Isabeau of Este is the chief of the Federal Duchy of Nordhpadhan.Isabeau of Este was one of the Federal Councillors of the old Federal Assembly of the Most Serene Federal Republic of Nordhpadhan. After the Nuclear Apocalipse she was he only Federal Councillor survived and she organizes the reconstruction.
She was directly proclaimed Duchess by the vote of the City Council of Wenedhig, then one City Council after another ratified the decision of the Councillors of Wenedhig until all the City Councils of the 11 Cantons ratified the Duchy.

Duchess Isabeau of Este proclaims a Federal Constitution to save the Freedoms of the 11 Sovereign Cantons and a new Federal Parliament comprising an upper house: the House of Lords and a lower house: the Federal Assembly.
Duchess has declared that at her death all her powers will be returned to the City Councils of the 11 Cantons which will vote whether to proclaim the Republic again or maintain the Duchy.

The City Councils of 5 most popolous Cantons: Federal Republic of Grishum, Most Serene Republic of Lighur, Federal Republic of Medhelanish, Most Serene Republic of Orobish and Most Serene Republic of Wenedhig are oriented to vote for the end of the Duchy and the return of the Republic.
The City Councils of the remain 6 Cantons are oriented to reconfirm the Duchy and to elect a Duke or a Duchess.
Lord Francis Gonzaga, the son of the Duchess, the President of the House of Lords, the Chief of the Government, is the most eligible candidate to become the new Duke.
5 City Councils of County of Aemilium, Marquisate of Freeul, Marquisate of Piedhmount, County of Romarin, County of Valee declare that it is not necessary that the Duke be descendant of the Duchess and that they would be inclined to make the office of elective Duke on an annual basis.
4 City Councils of Native Canton representing the native lands of Cimber, Tellin, Tessin, Walsher are oriented to proclaim the Republic or alternatively to reconfirm the Duchy with the office of elective Duke on an annual basis.
3 City Councils of Native Canton representing the native lands of Gurin, Moken, Slovendish are oriented to reconfirm the Duchy without any changes.
The stock market and international banks would like continuity with the past.
Republicans would like the reconstruction of Medhelan, symbol of the Republic, destroyed by the atomic war. Republicans declare that the Flag with the Raven will return to wave high in the sky.
Ducals confirm the continuity with the past and the Glory and prosperity of the citizens of the Federal Duchy. Ducals declare that Medhelan Lake must remain so as a warning against atomic wars.
Citizens are likely to come back to vote on a referendum to decide which form of government they prefer.
Lord Francis Gonzaga instructed the Federal Assembly to organize the Referendum and instructed the Marshal Gian Galeazzo Visconti to organize an order service to allow the peaceful execution of the referendum.
The referendum is held on January 5th 2019.
Republic of the Federal Duchy of Nordhpadhan
After the referendum.
Duchy is maintained without any changes but the election of the Duke (or Duchess).
The office of elective Duke (or Duchess) is on an annual basis.
It is to say that the Duchy is a Republic, therefore House of the Lords and Federal Assembly vote for the new name:
REPUBLIC OF THE FEDERAL DUCHY OF NORDHPADHAN.
House of the Lords and Federal Assembly vote for Lord Francis Gonzaga as the new Duke for 2019.
House of the Lords votes for Lord Jorg Venier as the new President of the House of Lords.
Federal Assembly votes for Ms Blanchet Torriani as the new President of the Federal Assembly.
The Federal Parlament (i.e. Federal Assembly and House of the Lords) votes for Lord Francis Gonzaga as President of the Feudal Council and Chief of the Government.
The Federal Parlament votes for the new flag with the Raven, symbol of the old Republic.
The reconstruction of Medhelan was on debate and a referendum is held on March 2019.
Ms Blanchet Torriani instructed the Federal Assembly to organize the Referendum and instructed the Marshal Gian Galeazzo Visconti to organize an order service to allow the peaceful execution of the referendum.
A solution to the question was found. Wenedhig expands over the Medhelan Lake building a new district: Medhelan Sestriere builded over the Lake.
2020 general elections
On December 26th, 2019 89% of the citizens with voting rights votes for their representatives.
Feudal Council votes for Duke Francis Gonzaga as President of the Feudal Council.
House of the Lords votes for Baroness Blanchet Torriani as the new President of the House of Lords.
Federal Assembly votes for Baroness Maria Theresia Walburga Amalia Christina von Habsburg as the new President of the Federal Assembly.
The Federal Parlament (i.e. Federal Assembly and House of the Lords):
a) votes for Lord Bartolomeo Colleoni as the new Duke;
b) votes for Duke Bartolomeo Colleoni as the Chief of Government;
c) votes for Lord Marshal Jorg Venier as the Chief of the Feudal Army.

Direct democracy and federalism are hallmarks of the Federal Duchy of Northpadhanian political system.
The Federal Constitution is the legal foundation of the post-atomic war Federal Duchy. It outlines basic and political rights of individuals and citizen participation in public affairs, divides the powers between the Federation, the 11 Cantons and defines federal jurisdiction and authority.
There are 7 Native lands which constitute the Native Canton, one of the 11 Cantons
Humans and Artificial Intelligences are Nordhpadhanian citizens.
Nordhpadhanian citizens are subject to three legal jurisdictions: the Municipality, Cantons, Federal levels.
There are five main governing bodies on the Federal level:
1. the Duke or the Duchess (legislative, executive, judicial, sovereign power divided with the 11 Sovereign Cantons),
2. the House of Lords (legislative),
3. the Federal Assembly (legislative),
4. the Feudal Council (executive, the Government) and
5. the Federal Court (judicial, the Supreme Court).
