The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 11.074 billion MUDA Force Betans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 70.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming MUDA Force Betan economy, worth a remarkable 1,422 trillion guilders a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, fairly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Tourism, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Uranium Mining. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 128,456 guilders, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been banned for advocating gluttony, riot police are stationed around paintings of violent protestors, the new foreign policy is "why bother invading neighbours when they can be bought wholesale?", and children in school playgrounds can be heard chanting the hymns of the Order of Violet. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. MUDA Force Beta's national animal is the panther, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
