The Sharkboy of Jeric is a gargantuan, efficient nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, compulsory military service, and ubiquitous missile silos. The hard-working population of 28.836 billion Jericians are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Law & Order, and Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 17.0%.

The very strong Jerician economy, worth a remarkable 1,836 trillion dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Retail, and Gambling. Average income is 63,689 dollars, with the richest citizens earning 7.2 times as much as the poorest.

Where there's a will there is usually a password manager, toxic smog is dismissed as the populace just "letting off steam", the government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments, and sports fans complain that cricket tests now last an unbearable ten days. Crime is moderate. Jeric's national animal is the fish, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to heavy metals seepage into national waterways.

Jeric is ranked 238,418^th in the world and 1^st in The Pleiades for Highest Average Tax Rates, with 16.95 Effective Tax Rate.
