The Colony of DEMA33 is a titanic, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service and irreverence towards religion. The democratic population of 13.231 billion DEMA33ians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 18.3%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient DEMA33ian economy, worth 485 trillion Citas a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Furniture Restoration, Retail, and Pizza Delivery. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. DEMA33's national animal is the Vippertooth Dragon.
