The Queendom of Code073 is a mammoth, cultured nation, remarkable for its frequent executions, punitive income tax rates, and stringent health and safety legislation. The quiet, industrious population of 9.855 billion Code073ians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Welfare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 59.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The large but sluggish Code073ian economy, worth 190 trillion yen a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Woodchip Exports, Information Technology, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Arms Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 19,311 yen, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The "temporary replacement bus service" is now a permanent fixture, helicopter parenting is on the rise, road signs are getting harder to read under layers of knitted woolen cardigans, and naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Code073's national animal is the Klaxosaur, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Code073 is ranked 315,957^th in the world and 2^nd in Velvet haven for Highest Disposable Incomes, with 7,840.42 Standard Monetary Units.
