The Somewhat expensive land of Capilateria is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Bill M Bill with a fair hand, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, flagrant waste-dumping, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 4.53 billion Capilaterians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, corrupt, pro-business, outspoken government, or what there is of one, is effectively ruled by the Department of Industry, although Education is also considered important, while Environment and Welfare aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Capital Trade. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Capilaterian economy, worth 813 trillion millions a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and dominated by the Retail industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Soda Sales. Average income is an impressive 179,530 millions, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 1,033,612 per year while the poor average 14,945, a ratio of 69.2 to 1.

The government is on the side of working people (like CEOs, bankers and billionaires), global anti-terrorist organisations strongly suspect Capilateria of supplying extremist groups, accidentally dropping a nickel is a social taboo, and the name of the "Butcher of Bigtopia" adorns shirts across Capilateria. Crime, especially youth-related, is all-pervasive, probably because of the absence of a police force. Capilateria's national animal is the falcon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Capiletic Monetary.

Capilateria is ranked 1,264th in the world and 5th in Free Market Federation for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 9,445.11 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
