The Județ of Bacau is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Valentin Ivancea with an even hand, and remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, national health service, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 3.634 billion Bacauans are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Healthcare, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bacău. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.8%.

The strong Bacauan economy, worth 226 trillion lei a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Book Publishing, and Retail. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 62,150 lei, with the richest citizens earning 6.4 times as much as the poorest.

Stores employing more than 100 employees are required to be at least twenty miles from any competitor, the possibility of gain causes universal pain, a ban on robots in disguise has transformed the entertainment industry, and a major religion has been named as Bacau's national religion. Crime, especially youth-related, is almost non-existent, thanks to a capable police force. Bacau's national animal is the lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Bacau is ranked 190,176^th in the world and 78^th in Terranova for Least Corrupt Governments, with 92.82 percentage of bribes refused.
