The Allied States of Anexmace is a very large, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, state-planned economy, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, democratic population of 298 million Anexmaceans are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The large, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 54.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Anexmacean economy, worth 11.1 trillion dollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Woodchip Exports industry, with significant contributions from Automobile Manufacturing, Arms Manufacturing, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 37,227 dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Raccoons are plump and satiated, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, and citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Anexmace's national animal is the crocodile, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to heavy metals seepage into national waterways.

Anexmace is ranked 225,228^th in the world and 2^nd in Infinite Locality for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 29.86 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
