Pope ave maria wrote:O Lord Jesus Christ,
when you entered Jerusalem,
great crowds waved palm branches and cried “Hosanna.”
Save us now from our sins,
and make us to rejoice in you,
our only Redeemer;
through your mercy, O our God,
you are blessed,
and live and govern all things,
now and forever. Amen.

Today is 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭

We commemorate today the entrance of Jesus to Jerusalem. Today is a special Sunday at mass, having two gospel readings. I have decided to place the passion narrative here, since it is every Sunday that we have the Holy Gospels or the Acts of the Apostles.

Let us begin today's Daily

In the name of the Father, ✠
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻.

God our loving Father,
grant us the grace
to hear what we ought to hear,
to see what we ought to see,
that we might do what we ought to do,
in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 according to the Holy Gospel of Saint 𝐋𝖚𝐤𝖊 22:14-23:56
New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿. 14 When the hour came, he took his place at table with the apostles. 15 He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer, 16 for, I tell you, I shall not eat it [again] until there is fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” 17 Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; 18 for I tell you [that] from this time on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱. 21 “And yet behold, the hand of the one who is to betray me is with me on the table; 22 for the Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed.” 23 And they began to debate among themselves who among them would do such a deed.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀. 24 Then an argument broke out among them about which of them should be regarded as the greatest. 25 He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them and those in authority over them are addressed as ‘Benefactors’; 26 but among you it shall not be so. Rather, let the greatest among you be as the youngest, and the leader as the servant. 27 For who is greater: the one seated at table or the one who serves? Is it not the one seated at table? I am among you as the one who serves. 28 It is you who have stood by me in my trials; 29 and I confer a kingdom on you, just as my Father has conferred one on me, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱. 31 “Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail; and once you have turned back, you must strengthen your brothers.” 33 He said to him, “Lord, I am prepared to go to prison and to die with you.” 34 But he replied, “I tell you, Peter, before the cock crows this day, you will deny three times that you know me.”

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀. 35 He said to them, “When I sent you forth without a money bag or a sack or sandals, were you in need of anything?” “No, nothing,” they replied. 36 He said to them, “But now one who has a money bag should take it, and likewise a sack, and one who does not have a sword should sell his cloak and buy one. 37 For I tell you that this scripture must be fulfilled in me, namely, ‘He was counted among the wicked’; and indeed what is written about me is coming to fulfillment.” 38 Then they said, “Lord, look, there are two swords here.” But he replied, “It is enough!”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻. 39 Then going out he went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. 40 When he arrived at the place he said to them, “Pray that you may not undergo the test.” 41 After withdrawing about a stone’s throw from them and kneeling, he prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done.” [43 And to strengthen him an angel from heaven appeared to him. 44 He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently that his sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground.] 45 When he rose from prayer and returned to his disciples, he found them sleeping from grief. 46 He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not undergo the test.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. 47 While he was still speaking, a crowd approached and in front was one of the Twelve, a man named Judas. He went up to Jesus to kiss him. 48 Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?” 49 His disciples realized what was about to happen, and they asked, “Lord, shall we strike with a sword?” 50 And one of them struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear. 51 But Jesus said in reply, “Stop, no more of this!” Then he touched the servant’s ear and healed him. 52 And Jesus said to the chief priests and temple guards and elders who had come for him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? 53 Day after day I was with you in the temple area, and you did not seize me; but this is your hour, the time for the power of darkness.”

𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. 54 After arresting him they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest; Peter was following at a distance. 55 They lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat around it, and Peter sat down with them. 56 When a maid saw him seated in the light, she looked intently at him and said, “This man too was with him.” 57 But he denied it saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” 58 A short while later someone else saw him and said, “You too are one of them”; but Peter answered, “My friend, I am not.” 59 About an hour later, still another insisted, “Assuredly, this man too was with him, for he also is a Galilean.” 60 But Peter said, “My friend, I do not know what you are talking about.” Just as he was saying this, the cock crowed, 61 and the Lord turned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.” 62 He went out and began to weep bitterly. 63 The men who held Jesus in custody were ridiculing and beating him. 64 They blindfolded him and questioned him, saying, “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?” 65 And they reviled him in saying many other things against him.

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻. 66 When day came the council of elders of the people met, both chief priests and scribes, and they brought him before their Sanhedrin. 67 They said, “If you are the Messiah, tell us,” but he replied to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe, 68 and if I question, you will not respond. 69 But from this time on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” 70 They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied to them, “You say that I am.” 71 Then they said, “What further need have we for testimony? We have heard it from his own mouth.”

CHAPTER 23

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲. 1 Then the whole assembly of them arose and brought him before Pilate. 2 They brought charges against him, saying, “We found this man misleading our people; he opposes the payment of taxes to Caesar and maintains that he is the Messiah, a king.” 3 Pilate asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” He said to him in reply, “You say so.” 4 Pilate then addressed the chief priests and the crowds, “I find this man not guilty.” 5 But they were adamant and said, “He is inciting the people with his teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where he began even to here.”

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗱. 6 On hearing this Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean; 7 and upon learning that he was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod who was in Jerusalem at that time. 8 Herod was very glad to see Jesus; he had been wanting to see him for a long time, for he had heard about him and had been hoping to see him perform some sign. 9 He questioned him at length, but he gave him no answer. 10 The chief priests and scribes, meanwhile, stood by accusing him harshly. 11 [Even] Herod and his soldiers treated him contemptuously and mocked him, and after clothing him in resplendent garb, he sent him back to Pilate. 12 Herod and Pilate became friends that very day, even though they had been enemies formerly. 13 Pilate then summoned the chief priests, the rulers, and the people 14 and said to them, “You brought this man to me and accused him of inciting the people to revolt. I have conducted my investigation in your presence and have not found this man guilty of the charges you have brought against him, 15 nor did Herod, for he sent him back to us. So no capital crime has been committed by him. 16 Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him.” [17 He was obliged to release one prisoner for them at the festival,]

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵. 18 But all together they shouted out, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us.” 19 (Now Barabbas had been imprisoned for a rebellion that had taken place in the city and for murder.) 20 Again Pilate addressed them, still wishing to release Jesus, 21 but they continued their shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” 22 Pilate addressed them a third time, “What evil has this man done? I found him guilty of no capital crime. Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him.” 23 With loud shouts, however, they persisted in calling for his crucifixion, and their voices prevailed. 24 The verdict of Pilate was that their demand should be granted. 25 So he released the man who had been imprisoned for rebellion and murder, for whom they asked, and he handed Jesus over to them to deal with as they wished.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀. 26 As they led him away they took hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country; and after laying the cross on him, they made him carry it behind Jesus. 27 A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him. 28 Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, 29 for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’ 30 At that time people will say to the mountains, ‘Fall upon us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’ 31 for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?” 32 Now two others, both criminals, were led away with him to be executed.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗶𝗼𝗻. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him and the criminals there, one on his right, the other on his left. 34 [Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”] They divided his garments by casting lots. 35 The people stood by and watched; the rulers, meanwhile, sneered at him and said, “He saved others, let him save himself if he is the chosen one, the Messiah of God.” 36 Even the soldiers jeered at him. As they approached to offer him wine 37 they called out, “If you are King of the Jews, save yourself.” 38 Above him there was an inscription that read, “This is the King of the Jews.”

39 Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, “Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us.” 40 The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, “Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? 41 And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. 44 It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon 45 because of an eclipse of the sun. Then the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. 46 Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last.

𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵

47 The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said, “This man was innocent[v] beyond doubt.” 48 When all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts; 49 but all his acquaintances stood at a distance, including the women who had followed him from Galilee and saw these events.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. 50 Now there was a virtuous and righteous man named Joseph who, though he was a member of the council, 51 had not consented to their plan of action. He came from the Jewish town of Arimathea and was awaiting the kingdom of God. 52 He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 After he had taken the body down, he wrapped it in a linen cloth and laid him in a rock-hewn tomb in which no one had yet been buried. 54 It was the day of preparation, and the sabbath was about to begin. 55 The women who had come from Galilee with him followed behind, and when they had seen the tomb and the way in which his body was laid in it, 56 they returned and prepared spices and perfumed oils. Then they rested on the sabbath according to the commandment.

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children

Weirdly enough, lent is my favourite season, much more than Christmas or Easter. Maybe I'm biased in the colour violet, and the traditions and celebrations are something I liked since I was in elementary. But as I started the Daily, and the Liturgy of the Hours, my understanding of my faith became deeper and intimate in a way.

I am a student, yes, a high school student, and I also can't believe to have written in this way everyday. Yesterday I forgot to write, sorry, and today, being the holiest week of the year, I wouldn't want to miss out the chance.

Now I want to ask, did anyone try to skip the reading today? It really is long, the narrative is long. When we had mass online, I kinda spaced out on some parts. There are parts that are repeated at every year in mass. I know it is wrong, and I'm not saying that you should do it too. But the length of the reading is nothing, compared to the suffering of Jesus.

We can understand how time lengthens when we are in pain? Be it pain that isn't as grave as the Passion of Christ. We should imagine, historians and scholars said that the real life passion of Christ started around last supper, that is 5pm, to 3pm of the next day. We can't imagine how long that felt for Jesus. He was exhausted and didn't have the time to sleep because of anxiety.

Now as the Gospel was also read in mass today, I was also thinking about Jesus. Of course being God, he knew what will happen and how painful it would be. Being man and experiencing it in person, is harder. Today we envision the Good Friday, of the man who is God, knowing He has the power to stop the pain, embraced pain until his death. That is the man we celebrate every day in the mass. That is what happens every time in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

My opinion of having Lent as my favourite season, reminds me the suffering Jesus, the forgiveness of our sins, the resurrection of the dead, and the fulfillment of the promise of God through the ultimate sacrifice no holocaust can serve. This also gave me a personal reflection, does thinking about Jesus' death, and enjoying it make me bad? Or worse, an antichrist? HAHAHAH My thoughts can be extreme. But His suffering and death brings joy to me in a not sadistic way. I think about the effects, the fruits of the suffering.

Jesus in his Humanity, embraced us; we who are alive today, our ancestors who have died before us, and our children and the future generation. In the humility of God, he went down to the lowest level of creation, the sinful man. We man are the lowest of all creation because of our sin. We are the lowest in creation because through our first parents (Adam and Eve) we have sinned.

Many theologians have said this, Jesus and his mother Mary are the new Adam and Eve. Our humanity and dignity as humans are restored through them. Why? Jesus was God, of course. He knew evil and did no sin. He obeyed everything under the law for sinners BUT NOT sinned. The law, as Saint Paul had written, is a law for sinners. And by human curiosity about the statutes, we have the tendency to try it and regret. Through Jesus, he gave us a new law, a law of loving. And curiosity will not get ahead of us, since love fulfills and expands the law.

And Mary who was full of grace that sin cannot touch her and a strong will resisting temptation. Their obedience, their love and charity, their shared sorrow, their humility, their being in this world showed the greatness of humanity. The Virgin Mary was obedient, her faith and piety to the Father granted her the greatest honour of being the Mother of God. She was the one prophesised by Isaiah: "A virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

Their character lifted what our sinfulness lowered. Mary, though sorrowful in the passion, rejoice in the resurrection. Jesus; though beaten, spat on, flogged, kicked, crucified, impaled; Your resurrection gave us hope, and we are glad. A famous versicle is that, "He who had no sin was made sin for us." Our sinfulness is nothing compared to the glory of the resurrection, and the wonderful sacrifice of Jesus.

But we shouldn't be complacent, rather, we should always strive to not sin. Let us remember what Jesus said to the women of Jerusalem, «do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children» Because on that original Good Friday, we are in paradise. We are worthy of heaven, through Jesus Christ's death. Our sinfulness is destroyed, don't let it be brought back. We are freed from the slavery of sin. We are love, as God our creator is Love.

And a final note I would like to point out. Though Jesus' foster father died somewhere in time, his presence is always recurring. Though at this time, he is not the same Joseph, as they met somewhere while Jesus was opening the gates of heaven in His death. «Now there was a virtuous and righteous man named Joseph» that had the honour to bury Him in his own grave. These parallels are beautiful, seeing how God's creativeness in human salvation.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Today, in a special way, let us remember the entrance of Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. Each verse of the psalm can be recited alternately, or if alone just once. The first antiphon on the first psalm is said only at start and end of the psalm. The antiphons (in italic) is said together.

With joyful and sorrowful hearts, 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲.

Come, ring out our joy to the Lord;
hail the God who saves us.
Let us come before him, giving thanks,
with songs let us hail the Lord.

A mighty God is the Lord,
a great king above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his.
To him belongs the sea, for he made it
and the dry land shaped by his hands.

Come in; let us bow and bend low;
let us kneel before the God who made us:
for he is our God and we
the people who belong to his pasture,
the flock that is led by his hand.

O that today you would listen to his voice!
‘Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as on that day at Massah in the desert
when your fathers put me to the test;
when they tried me, though they saw my work.

For forty years I was wearied of these people
and I said: “Their hearts are astray,
these people do not know my ways.”
Then I took an oath in my anger:
“Never shall they enter my rest.”’

Read dispatch

All-powerful, eternal God,
You have chosen to give mankind a model of humility;
our Savior took on our flesh, and subjected Himself to the Cross.
Grant us the grace to preserve faithfully the lessons
He has given us in his Passion and to have a share in His resurrection.
This we ask of You through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.

Amen.

I will be voting for the commendation of Llorens due to a few different matters:

I can agree with many points in this commendation. One that seems to stick out most to me is the fact that throughout the review of this thread, it seems like Llorens is quite well-respected, and many nations have been directly affected by them.

I also want to bring a note to the fact that, as quite a few nations have stated, nations with FAR less reasoning for commendation have been almost overwhelmingly supported! It is therefore that I will be voting FOR this resolution.

I suppose my vote is cancelling yours out, your Eminence.

The Pink Feather wrote:I suppose my vote is cancelling yours out, your Eminence.

Hey, I'm not opposed to changing my vote on the matter. Did you have any particular reason for voting no?

It seems the nation in question did the same as many nations do for their region.

The Stinkpot Turtle wrote:It seems the nation in question did the same as many nations do for their region.

From what I can ascertain, They were quite successful in creating a massive influx of positive changes for their region.

I'm going to try something different as your WA Delegate: In order to serve you better, I will post the current WA resolutions here, and will solicit feedback regarding them from the entirety of nations within Vatican II.

The first WA resolution we will all vote upon is: Universal STI Counteraction.

My Most Precious Lord Jesus, this night You gathered with Your Apostles to share with them Your last meal. But this was no ordinary meal. This was the gift of Your most Sacred Body and Blood, soon to be broken and poured out on the Cross for the salvation of the world.

Allow me, dear Lord, to spend this night in prayer and meditation with You. After the meal, You invited Your Apostles to join You for one hour, to stay awake and keep vigil as You prepared for Your arrest. The Apostles fell asleep, leaving You in Your bitter agony alone.

I accept Your gentle invitation of love, dear Lord, to spend this night in vigil with You. May I enter Your Heart as it faced the coming persecution You were to endure for my sins. May I console Your Sacred Heart and know the love and Mercy that flowed forth.

Lord, when I face the crosses of my own life, give me Your divine courage and strength to say “Yes” to the Will of the Father. Your love for me is abundant and is perfect in every way. Help me to know that love, to embrace it and to allow it into my life.

I make my vigil with You this night, dear Lord. I love You, help me to love You with all my heart. Jesus, I trust in You.

To the people of VRCC on this Good Friday

When the Lord Jesus told Pontius Pilate that He had come to testify to the truth, it prompted Pilate to ask, "What is the truth?" Pilate sounds like the world-weary man that he was, a military governor in a remote corner of the Roman Empire. He knew that the truth in Rome didn't ring so true in the provinces. The truth for Jews often ran contrary to a Roman mind and vice versa. Now, an accused man
stood before him with yet another version of the truth. Pilate probably felt that he had heard enough versions of the truth to last a lifetime.
Our experience these days may be similar to that of Pilate. Every day we are exposed to many different versions of reality all claiming to be the truth; the truth about morality, about politics, even about God, Jesus, religion and the church.
Most recently, every day we hear different versions of the truth about our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. So, as it was for Pontius Pilate, it may be hard for us to see the truth even when it's standing right in front of us.

On this Good Friday the truth stands before us again in the person of the crucified Christ, who testifies to the truth that God still loves and saves His people and still blesses the whole of creation. Christ stands before us in John's Gospel battered by betrayal, jealousy and evil. He stands before us bloodied for preaching forgiveness, mercy and love in a world that still prefers violence and revenge. Remarkably, Jesus didn't retaliate. Instead He absorbed the abuse and the sins of the world in order to transform them through divine mercy. This is what he asks us to do as well.
So, with eyes already seeing the light of
Easter we pray: "We adore you O Christ and we praise You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world."

With blessings

My Most Glorious and Suffering Lord, it is Your Hour. It is the Hour by which You conquered sin and death. It is the Hour for which You came into this world, taking on flesh so as to offer Your precious life for the salvation of the world.

May I be with You, dear Lord, in these moments of suffering and death. May I, like Your Mother, John and Mary Magdalene, stand at the foot of the Cross, gazing upon the perfect Gift of Love.

My suffering Lord, may I see in Your Cross the most perfect act ever known in this world. May I see Love in its most pure form. May my eyes and soul look beyond the blood and pain and see Your Divine Heart, pouring forth Mercy upon me and upon the whole world.

Today I kneel in silent adoration of You, my God. I sit quietly, beholding the great mystery of our faith. I behold God, beaten, bruised, mocked, tortured and killed. But in this act, I see all grace and Mercy flowing from Your wounded Heart. Bathe the world in Your Mercy, dear Lord. Cover us with Your grace and draw us to new life through Your death. I love You, dear Lord. I love You with all my heart. Jesus, I trust in You.

Blessings

This is the night of nights,
the night of faith and of hope.
While all is shrouded in darkness,
God, the Light, keeps watch.
With him there keep watch all who hope and trust in Him.

O Mary,
this is truly your night!
As the last lights of the Sabbath are extinguished,
and the fruit of your womb rests in the earth,
your heart too keeps watch!
Your faith and your hope look ahead.
Behind the heavy stone,
they already detect the empty tomb;
behind the thick veil of darkness,
they glimpse the dawn of the Resurrection.
Grant, O Mother, that we too may keep watch in the silence
of the night,
believing and hoping in the Lord's word.
Thus shall we meet, in the fullness of light and life,
Christ, the first-fruits of the risen,
who reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit,
for ever and ever.
Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia!

Go in peace, Cardinal Ave Maria. May God light your path!

Jesus, we anxiously await your return. We mourn your departure from this earth, but joy shall come in the morning! May we shout 'He is Risen!' from the rooftops and unto your ears, O Lord.

We pray unto you, Amen!

Cretoia-Slrathria wrote:The discord server has no icon yet so, I guess it would be fair to hold a little contest. The PP had told me that there had been no Icon of the VRCC. So it would be a nice opportunity for the VRCC.

Details: Entries will be submitted through the channel #pastoral-centre. Most number of reactions would determine the winner. Submissions will start on April 18 and end on May 18 of this year. Below the belt entries are disqualified automatically.

Have fun and God Bless!

You could also submit your entries through TGs.

We pray for our Ave Maria as he begins the tour of regions for Easter.

May he spread the knowledge and Good News of the Risen Christ.

May he be the example to all of us. May the Lord bless you and keep you safe.

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly king, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
But the pains which he endured, Alleluia!
Our salvation have procured; Alleluia!
Now above the sky he's king, Alleluia!
Where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!
Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!
Praise eternal as his love; Alleluia!
Praise him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Alleluia!

I read back through the thread today and realized I've been VRCC clergy for over 9 years! How awesome is that?

I'll be honest yall, I have no idea what the current security council resolution is on about. Hippos and such. I'm voting against it.

I think it was a joke. I, for one, think these resolution writers take themselves too seriously, so I voted for it. You gotta love a hippo.

Yeaaaaa, I see your point. Welp, looks like the VRCC is pro-hippo!
