Probably has some kind of celebration, changing of months would definitely be more celebrated however as there would be some kind of festival on the new moon where people pray for the moon to come back, might over time just become the 1st of each month

The Bassiliyans celebrate the greatest of Otoism holidays: Midsummer's Day. On this day, the sun passes at its highest peak and lasts there the longest. Oto's favor beats down upon the whole earth from the sky for the longest day of the year. This is also the day that it was revealed to the first Emperor and High Preist of Bassiliya that his family was the rightful ruling house of the empire, sparking the Eternal War.

First, concerning the poll: Belgium ! (although every country makes good food, except the English, speaking by experience lol)

For the last question time: Battlavian has 2 great festivals linked to the changing of seasons, one is a bit before the beginning of spring, where it represents the fight and the death of their legendary dragon, giving its own life to protect its people and make flourish life anew. Or to quote my rp with Noyistain: "The Dragon Festival, for example, is a multi-day festival that begins five days before spring, with parades and music starting in the north announcing the arrival of the dragon and our ancestors. These parades pass along the rivers and the main roads of towns and cities. This festival ends in the south with a great act in Bergen where the villains are killed, the dragon succumbs and new lives are created, meaning that's the beginning of spring"

The other is on the last day of fall, which is usually made of great public and private feasts, games and dances, music is everywhere. It was originally to celebrate for a good next harvesting season and a mild winter. Battlavians believe that celebrating so much before winter will, by creating good energies, have good consequences (they don't believe in luck) for winter and the next harvesting season, overwhelming the bad energies. Every town and city has its own tradition but at least one priest, at some point, makes a sermon and then begins the gift-giving part of the event. Some towns and cities prefer to begin with it, while others prefer to put it at the end of the day. This day is also a perfect one for people to declare and express their love, and also to forgive others. Usually, it ends, with fireworks for wealthier places and, traditional songs sing together, by those not yet asleep, hand-in-hand, all along the night.

There are many other events linked to seasons but not to the changing of the seasons.

The day is bright and a hot wind is blowing through the streets. Flowering plants and colorful flowers can be seen everywhere and the sounds of summer fill the air. Those who stand in the crowd, waiting for the Diarchs, sip from beakers of frothy beer and chilled cider, which helps to add to the happy mood and loud chatter. The Diarchs, dressed in light, summery colors, step out onto their terrace, and the crowd whispers in anticipation. Then, they speak. "It is the pleasure of the Diarchs that, in celebration of the coming spring, a tourney will be held! From across the world, warriors and champions shall try themselves against each other in single combat, the winner being declared 'Summer Soldier'. May the best warrior win!"

Thegye is having yet another tourney event! Our Midsummer tourney event is open for all to participate in. All you have to do is fill out the simple form before July 15th and before all the slots are full (16 is the max number)! Amazingly, we only have 4 slots left. The first day of the tourney is complete, everyone! A stunning first-fight upset for the contestants from Zuzek and Beaver khaganate. Very surprising! Check out the results from the tourney below and make sure to leave a nice upvote.

Crowds flock to the tournament ring outside the castle, just to the north of the city. All around, banners, streamers, and colorful flags flap in the hot wind. Adults and children alike speak in excited tones, each one looking forward to the event to come. Jugglers, musicians, and jesters roam the streets, adding to the air of excitement and gaiety to the air. From the taverns, shouts and songs can be heard from the early partyers, getting their fill of the cheap beer and chilled cider. At the ring itself, already the seats have begun to fill up, and the guests of honor begin to arrive. Soon, only standing room will be left for the onlookers. The trumpets sound the royal fanfare as the Diarchs make their way to their thrones, decked in the colors of midsummer. Seated, the Diarchs extend their hands and signal the beginning of the day's events. Let the best warrior win!

-(1) ZWEI THE DEVIOUS vs. (16) RANDO MAGATAL
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Rando charges at Zwei, swinging his heavy saber down at the Floridian. Taken by surprise, Zwei is unable to dodge the blow properly, receiving a hefty cut on his left arm and shoulder. Roaring in pain, he swings his anchor hard around at Rando, but only manages to trip the Beavkhaganatean. Rando, kneeling on the ground, takes a desperate blow, misses, but manages to bring the blunt, thick back of the saber blade crashing into the side of Zwei's head. The Floridian moans and falls sideways, unconscious. Rando Magatal, the contestant from Beaver khaganate wins, defeating Zwei the Devious of Zuzek!

-(9) ILLTASH THE LESSER vs. (8) JEYLAN
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Jeylan and Illtash charge each other, smashing into a grappling pile of limbs and weapons. Jeylan swings his train, a 1:75 scale model of a Marklin 30000, and Illtash slashes with his saber. Finally, the two separate, both with cuts and wounds. Jeylan winds back and hurls his model train into Illtash's face, smacking him square in the forehead. Another model train appeared in his hands, an HSB 99 6001, which also crunches into Illtash, knocking him out. Jeylan from Felix Femboi wins, beating Illtash the Lesser of Great katyusha!

-(5) ALEXANDER ZVEZDOV vs. (12) TUKARAM SET
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

The two characters circled each other, neither moving very fast. Finally, the referee signaled the two of them to fight. Charging forward, Alexander swung his blades, but only managed to land a small cut on Tukaram's leg. The two grappled and wrestled for a few minutes, conclusively. Finally, Alexander came out on top, pummelling the Indian with the pommels. Unconcious, the model maze fell from his hands. Alexander Zvezdov, the contestant from Renaria wins, defeating Tukaram Set of Indusse!

-(4) ALASKA vs. (13) SKRAGTOOF
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Alaska charges the hulking Freeboota warrior, swinging their custom-made rolling-pin, the Bazooka-Vacuum. Thwaking and smacking it against Skragtoof in a fury of blows, they successfully stun the Freeboota for a moment. Blindly sweeping his poleaxe around himself, Skragtoof manages to force the Sweed back. Leaping inside the range of the polearm, Alaska rains another fury of blows down. Suddenly, Skragtoof reels back, struck in the face and head with the Bazooka-Vacuum. He falls back, shaking the ground. Alaska, the contestant from New Eestiball wins, defeating Skragtoof of Da waaaagh!

-(3) JULAIS vs. (14) GHADA
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Ghada and Julais rush at each other, but both attempted blows miss. The zorse from Selt swipes their hind legs at the passing Phloo-Axolotlite, knocking him over. Stunned for a moment, Julais barely rolls out of the way of the stamping hooves of the Seltic thoroughbred. Striking up swiftly with his spear, Julais crack's Ghada a knockout blow across the forehead and snout, causing the zorse to collapse. Julais, the contestant from Axolotl Land wins, defeating Ghada of Peraro Krotoik!

-(6) LYCAN LIHAO vs. (11) SVEN
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Lycan, drawing his bow, looses an arrow that strikes Sven in the foreleg. Growling and roaring, Sven dodges the next arrow, but a third strikes him in the other foreleg, causing him to slam forward on his face, immobilizing and stunning him. Lycan Lihao, the contestant from Bythorthe wins, defeating Sven of Aquastareite!

-(7) SIR JOBST OF ZAJIC vs. (10) HIGH PRIEST MOGNUS
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

The two warriors clash nosily, axe ringing off stone. Many blows can be heard, back and forth, as a large cloud of dust rises in the center of the tourney court. The crowd waits in apprehension. Finally, High Priest Mognus staggers backwards, a huge lump already showing on his bald pate. He stumbles for a moment and then falls over, Sir Jobst standing over his unconscious body. The crowd roars in approval. Sir Jobst of Zajic, the contestant from Haganham wins, defeating High Priest Mognus of Cisalpine And Switzerland!

-(2) LUMEN SKYBORNE vs. (15) THE SPEED LIZARD
-

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

The Speed Lizard, attempting to put his sword in his mouth, fumbles his weapon multiple times. Simply walking over to the hapless North Northlander, Lumen raises his lighthouse high and brings down a crashing blow on the Speed Lizard's head. Lumen Skyborne, the contestant from The flying skylark wins, defeating the Speed Lizard of The Lost Domain!

As the last contestants leave the ring, the crowd begins to disperse. Soon, the Diarchs rise, announce that the second round of the tourney and the defeated bracket will begin tomorrow morning, and depart for the ensuing feast. The rest of the crowd leaves, some heading home, others to parties, and still others to the taverns to celebrate wins or losses. All in all, everyone has enjoyed the first day of the tourney and many look forward to the events tomorrow!

Stunned by the brashness of his opponent, the Freeboota fails to react as the second and third ears crash into him. Overbalancing and stunned by the flying corn, he falls back onto his own sword, which protrudes from his belly. The crowd is silent of a moment and then roars in approval. I feel the need to point out that employment in this game makes no sense. Employment can go down due to issues that shouldn’t have anything to do with it, or when you decide to do projects that logically should create jobs. It’s especially egregious when you lose jobs after picking an option that explicitly promised to create them.

Question Time

If you could alter history without any repercussions, what would you change?

I have a lot of things that I would change, but the one that comes to mind first is making the Library of Alexandria not burn down. Imagine how much it would benefit our society today if it was still here, maybe we would actually have flying cars ;).

The Library of Alexandria is still a thing pretty sure only a bit of it burned down so it’s still around I believe…

Anyway I would make the British Empire never exist cause it would be cool to see how countries do stuff differently without the influence of them

twould be interesting, however I think that just means the french conquer the world instead of nations doing their own thing and no one wants that.

I'd probably make it so the nuclear bomb was never invented. Probably significantly lower the chances of us killing ourselves

So many choices! So so many. I think, if anything, I would give Tesla everything he needed to succeed. The man had some brilliant ideas and could, perhaps, have prevented a great deal of suffering and toil in the world through his inventions.

If that's the case then I guess I would return the library to its former glory. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would make the Central Powers win World War I. This means no Treaty of Versailles, no Nazis, and maybe no Stalin if the Germans help the Whites win the Russian Civil War.

Probably make the art school accept Hitler, so he won't kill so many jews and send ppl to war.
