At dawn today, a large riot broke out in the centre of Budaresa, with protesters marching on the Head office. This protest was one of many sweeping the nation after the passing of Linzen Obarts new bill, the election security act,which has been another nail in the coffin for her party. Despite winning the election last June, Linzen lost her majority and had to form a coalition with the Right alternative, who have become the black sheep among the Zeilingian party, and as such has caused the other member of the coalition, the Regional agriculture party to join the opposition.
The bill would significantly restrict voting rights across the country, and has been lambasted for its disrespect towards regional autonomy and the strengthening of government control over the party, specifically the prevention of aisle crossing, which has been a staple of the democratic process there for centuries.
By now, it seems almost inevitable the government will be forced to resign, as this electoral scandal has only been one of the many issues trailing the government since the Brandfort Scandal since 2 months before the election. Without any agreement of governers in the august session, it seems unlikely Linzen will be approved as prime minister, with many of her allies resigning in the last couple days, with the Secretariat of labour entering a free fall after the declaration of a general strike by the country's largest trading union

The Almighty Republic appreciates the offer but so humbly and graciously declines. Patec is a peaceful people. Tho we condemn the interception of FRS merchant vessels, we wish not, to so early, take such a stance. And we are instead intrigued and inspired by Brunholls declaration of Neutrality. We aim to achieve peace and signing on to a military pact would not complete such goals.:)
OOC- offer to join Skepolis Pact, and the Chief subsequent declination is leaked to the Patecian public. The more “Aggressive” Representatives in the Peoples House take to social media to call the Government “soft” and “weak” tho Patec has not been in an International military organization since the Auradish-Gallis War of Ridgefield.
In a further attempt to ensure that Brunholl can stand strong at times of crisis the finance minister announced today that Brunholl will be pulling out of the regional currency scheme and will be returning to our independent currency. This will not affect how we do trade with other nations however we will reserve the right to revert to trading purely in Kronor if and when we see fit such as the value of the Royal Mark falling to dangerously low levels

In a recent press conference, Oleg Edwards stated:
"Two disappointing decisions taken by Brunholl today. First the decision to jeopardise peace and stability by leaving the Sekpolis Pact, and now the decision to abandon closer regional ties by leaving the unified currency. As it stands now, the regional currency has only a handful of members. If things do not change for the better, Meercovo will face no choice but to leave the currency union. In fact, Brunholl's exit has increased this likelihood.
We are extremely disappointed that the currency has not been as successful as we would have liked. Having a unified currency allows all nations to be directly compared, socially and economically. However, this is no longer possible. The stability provided by the unified currency has been lost, thanks to lack of enthusiasm and support by the region."
President Will responded with the following statement in response to Oleg Edwards “we are simply making an attempt to maintain national sovereignty. We can hear the drums of war beating and we know the consequences of it. We have made hard choices to ensure our continued growth and safety as a nation. We will not be plunged into recession by war when we can easily avoid doing so”
