Oh no.

Greenshot is a good tool to use to make something like this. As it can screenshot selected spots on the screen.

Do we get multiple banners to cycle through? If so make collages of stupid stuff each of us said out of context. If not make one of all of us saying stupid stuff.

The inch of snow deposited by the morning's storm begins to grow deeper. The winds of the Glowing Sea are stirring up a rad storm, which will make venturing out a dangerous and short-lived journey for anyone unprepared. Only the foolish and the desperate are still out at these hours. Would-be adventurers who will be lucky to survive the storm, and the human vultures that stalk the land, hunting for the dead to strip of their belongings and prizes from the past age. Both are attracted to the crash of the vertibird.

The snow crunches under the scav's feet as they near the street where the crash took place. After the crash the fury of a gunfight was audible from five city blocks away, the orchestra of laser and plasma weaponry nearly drowned out the voice of a solitary AK, until one after another they are silenced. There is only one man with a weapon like that that could take down a vertibird and its power armored patrol. Everyone in the area must be on their guard.

No cycle, far as I can tell. Just one banner. You all should see a white bar at the top of the region page now, with our region name and flag on the left then right respectively. At least on desktop, I can't speak for mobile.

That white bar is our current "banner", the default blank thing since one has not been set as of yet. There are a few defaults I can set in place in the meantime though

The banner is behind the region name and the flag is on the right for mobile

Temp default banner that is most related/best match has been chosen. I figure the foliage was the best fit since, ya know...chili's. Certainly a better fit than a desert, ice crystals, or whatever the heck the other things even are in the first place.

Wabacha wrote:His sword sparks against nothing, yet Sam feels a heavy weight force itself against his blade. A cold wind whispers deadly curses through its passing, but fails to find purchase in his throat thanks to his rapid reliance on his senses. But another strike is coming, giving him no time to recover his stance as he senses the desire to plunge deep under his ribcage. Voices and whispers, directing him to his right side. He can already feel the blade digging up into his liver, he has little time to react.

Wuddy fares no better, forced to leap into the air and land clumsily to avoid being hamstrung. And try as he might, he cannot grab the unseen blades, they never fail to slip through his commands. I see... Just like the tests.

The King's eyes grow calmer, just before his assailant blade slashes through them. But that is all they do. The winds pass by, and the King straightens as best as he can with his wounds. The vampire does not fail to notice this but makes no effort to attack him as Wuddy turns to his friend desperately warding off the unknown force trying to kill him. Wuddy only managed to pass the test due to his long years of training under the current Master Wabani's father, he was too consumed by the moment to realize what it was sooner. But Sam doesn't have the luxury of years of training. There is only one way Sam could walk out of this alive. "Sam-" His voice is scarcely a croak. "Stop fighting as though you can save me. I'm a dead man. There is nothing you can do to stop this." Wuddy raises his sword in one hand halfway to a frontal guard towards his killer. "So honor my last wish, alright? Use all of your hatred, every last scrap of it, and avenge me before my heart stops beating."

With little more than an instinctual warning and an off balance stance Sam's multiple lifetimes of experience takes over. Without thought or time to properly dodge it's all he can do to minimize damage, leaning with the force of the previous strike to help his body shift more than if he had tried to use his own nervous system to move alone. His body shifts and bends just enough for the unknown strike to pierce lower and at a very different angle than initially intended, slicing through his gallbladder versus his liver, just enough movement to avoid striking anything else major. Without giving even a half moments pause he plants his feet firm and leans against this second strike, allowing it to pass through his body in the exact angle he shifted for. Not ideal, but dodging wasn't possible and this impact is significantly less severe than the alternative would've been.

As he rights his stance, braced for another attack he can sense but cannot see, Wuddy calls out to him with words he doesn't want to hear. Yet he does, he has to, and unfortunately this is not an alien situation to him. This isn't his first time hearing words very similar to this, far from it...but that doesn't mean it makes it any easier. Perhaps just as King Bach desires Sam's hatred for everything about this situation is running strong as he grips his sword. Swallowing how he truly feels and wants to say he known Wuddy is right, this enemy is far from normal. And unknown quantity. They will never win if they worry about the others survival. "I'll make Perdition itself blush at my wrath..."

The attention the assailant was giving Wuddy is completely missing despite his condition, as Sam now faces twice the deadly whispers of death. Cutting, stabbing, slicing, bludgeoning- the unseen blades now strike as one, seeking to end Sam's life. Wuddy tries to give his friend a second to breathe by advancing, blood leaving a trail connecting him to the pool he had left behind. The golden eyes of the vampire meet the golden eyes of Wuddy, and ripostes his questing blow, nearly knocking the king off his feet. Wuddy stumbles back, but Sam knows from thousands of years of experience, an opponent like this is not vulnerable even in this state. He can attack from any angle. And so he does, the faint alert of a knife seeking to plunge into his right lung and the realization that his left leg is about to be severed mid thigh.

Either he's playing with me, or he is not as skilled as Suhov. Either way, good for us. Wuddy coughs and spits out blood. "Sam, you're still fearing for your life while I'm dying over here? Put on your big boy pants and kill this guy. Or..." This hurts to even think about, let alone say it aloud. But Wuddy sees no other way to get Sam out of this trap. He needs the rage he saw in Calsnova.

"Or did Enkara take those too when he killed Saria?"

I'll spoil the reason why Wuddy said that since it might help with your response.

He is hoping that mentioning Enkara and Saria's death might trigger some of the unbelievable power Sam exhibited after her death, or at least some of the rage that is tied to that power to make him ignore his instincts and just try and murder the vampire. What the vampire is doing is preying on their fighting experience, arcane feints at such an extreme level that Wuddy and Sam thought they were real attacks and were actually injured by them.

Wuddy was able to figure it out because it is a technique used by the Wabanis, and has trained under them for years. To beat it requires absolute control over your fighting instincts, and isn't something you can just do when facing an opponent of this vampire's or a Wabani's level. He couldn't just tell Sam what to do because the Vampire might just kill him outright. But if Sam breaks and drops into that mind-numbing rage he had against Enkara, he would be bypassing his fighting instincts altogether, making the feints ineffective. And with that power, they might have a chance to win.

Well it isn't much of a spoiler if he brought up Enkara. Still its a good a reason than any, he needs Sam to break through any common sense and just focus on breaking this Vampire in two

It's more of a que that this is a point where a little bit of the Legend's power is necessary.

Lost a second full grown dino by falling off a cliff.
Sounds dumb till you get into a batch of foliage so thick that even a fully zoomed camera can't see the ground. Then the ground disappears entirely.
If only I had a Wiley Coyote sign.

You're a very silent few days.

Also 10-12 shifts every day.

There's a couple things I've been wanting to do but I've just spent so much time working.

Same. Got a new delivery route at work cause the person who was doing it quit and I hate it. Literally takes me twice as long compared to what I was doing before :P

I see why they quit.

Well I just walked into a gun store near me to pick up some 22lr for the weekend and saw behind the glass the exact gun I've been searching for for months. This is the best start to a weekend ever.

Wiping out an entire alien race in the name of disproportionate retribution being a close second.

Royal Palace, Wabacha 8:51 AM

"Are you sure? Father is about to fight the Templar God! Both of their CAS are near identical-"

"It's fine Wulce. The outcome is already decided. Besides, I'm leaving the city on urgent business in a few minutes."

"Ah... Alright. Well, stay safe."

The First Prince of Wabacha vanishes out of time to find Sam Mason, leaving the Second Prince alone and silent in the Hall of the Kings. Wabacha's history is forever carved into these walls, every Monarch and their rule written into these walls under a painting of their likeness. Many of them are thousands of years old, to say that billions of credits hung on the walls of this sacred hall would be an understatement. But only one painting holds the hard gaze of the Second Prince. Paul Aveides Bach stares into the eyes of Shaithis Bach, the first King and founder of the Kingdom of Wabacha and its people. And Paul knows there is no coincidence in the fact that he is a spitting image of the nation's first King. Both share the same pale features, the same chin and cheekbones, the same flowing locks of black hair. And the same look in their eyes. An awareness that no one would understand, until Paul is crowned King.

I refuse to see that future though. Paul turns, his military overcoat twirling around his legs as he now makes strides for the end of the hall towards the Palace landing pads, where an emergency response ship is waiting for them. On either side of him shimmering light breaks and reveals his personal guards, their armor sleeker than the standard issue and serve only him. He does not need them for protection.

Other forces at work have decided that.

"Are you sure about this location my Lord? There isn't a town for twenty miles!"

"Yes, this is it." Paul talks to the pilot of the ship as he's about to disembark, his guards are already on the ground and presences hidden. "Now head directly to Land's End and prepare for emergency surgery. You will find people with grevious wounds once you land."

"What am I supposed to tell the chain of command? That I'm operating under royal order?"

"No. I already have it taken care of. Your orders are in the system to train Zoconian medics in one hour, you will within the minute receive new orders to aide the wounded at Land's End."

"Alright. What about you?"

"I'll find my own way back." Paul exits the ship and gives the pilot enough distance to take off.

"Good luck with whatever you're doing!" The pilot shouts as the hatch closes. The ship takes off into the sky shortly after, heading for Land's End. Paul watches it until it becomes a speck on the horizon, preparing himself for an encounter that will decide the future. One that will decide the fate of every man woman and child in this Sector.

OOC: I'll get to a response. Eventually. When I can think of one XD
