Overview

The Ostarian economy is a well developed and modern economy with a diverse set of sectors with manufacturing at its core. The most notable aspects to the economy are the Artsbruck stock exchange, the Basin industrial yards, and the sprawling network of nuclear power plants and many forms of clean energy. As it stands, industry makes up 34.21% of GDP, services take up 65.03%, and agriculture are 0.76%.

Notable Companies (In Order of Size)


1. Hassler Kraftfahrzeug
The largest company in Ostaria, Hassler automotive is the premier Ostarian company, with some of the nations most infamous industrial facilities. Hassler offers a variety of cars, trucks, engines, and other machinery as offering other services such as financing and leasing. It is headquartered in Rhenick, and was the first company to allow Union representation on its board of directors.


2. MTW
MTW is an industrial conglomerate headquartered in Rhenick and serves as the largest producer of much of Ostaria’s industrial goods. MTW focuses on several sectors, such as hardware, power tools, household appliances, industrial technology, and construction equipment. MTW is most well known for its partnerships with other large companies in the corporate cargo network.


3. Rabl
Rabl is Ostaria’s largest retailer, headquartered in Korzin. A family owned store, Rabl operates thousands of discount food stores primarily, with the most recognizable super market chains around the country along with employing many in it’s large distribution centers.


4. Goldregen
The unsung hero of Ostarian corporations, Goldregen is a large financial firm, operating all across the country with its headquarters in Artsbruck. The company, though not as flashy as the industrial powerhouses, plays an important part in the economy, managing much of the insurance and asset management that goes on within the economy.


5. Kaviar Autowerkstatt
The angry sibling to Hassler, Kaviar pushes for a much fancier image. Whereas Hassler handles much of civilian and military utility, Kaviar takes civilian sport and flash. Through its manufacturing plants at Mötzenburg, Kaviar creates high end civilian cars and commercial vehicles, as well as its own models of general competitors to Hassler.


6. Berkam Electronik
Though it’s name indicates a focus on electronic producers, Berkam is one of MTWs main rivals. Though focusing on electronics, primarily phones, radios, and radar, Berkam produces a host of other products, including household appliances, medical equipment, and power tools. Berkam is headquartered in Artsbruck.


7. Ostarische Bergbaugesellschaft
The OBS is a state owned company responsible for most of the mining operations within the country. Though technically private, 100% of the stocks are owned by the Federal government and so most profits go towards the budget. Much of the workers get government benefits as well.


8. Auspitz Gruppe
Often referred simply as A.G, Auspitz Gruppe is a large chemical and pharmaceutical company, creating many of the chemicals that are used in medicines and for crops. The company also has large sectors in plastics and in much of the gas supply in Ostaria. One of the few Eastern companies, AG operates out of Briessen, Altmark.


9. Meiser Aeronautik
A large producer of commercial and military aircraft, Meiser stands as one of the main technological researchers in Ostaria. From communication equipment, targeting, satellite work, and other high end technologies, Meiser plays a large hand in the economy. Based in Zweikau.


10. Eisenstraßen
Eisenstraßen is another state owned company, responsible for much of the infrastructure development within the country. If mass transport of cargo wasn’t already a massive task, the company has constructed much of the high speed rail lines across the country and maintains most of the public transportation.


11. Ostarische Dynamiks
Ostarian Dynamics is yet another automobile manufacturer but branches out more often than its competitors. Dynamics produces a plethora of machine parts, engines, and specializes in construction equipment and ground based technology. As such, it is one of the largest contractors for the military, and operates from Karlsberg.


12. Taullenburg Steel
Headquartered in its namesake, Taullenburg, TB Steel owns many of the steel refineries across the nation, as well as several manufacturing facilities. Aside from steel and stainless products, TBS produces many industrial and engineering products, as well as automotive parts. Furthermore, the company contributes to naval and maritime designs, though it is far from the largest contributor.


13. Verbraucherallianz
V-Allianz is the main competitor to Rabl and operates from Leopoldsburg. V-A has many of its own supermarket chains that sell clothes, food products. What they’re most known for its there soft drinks and ice cream. They also have a strong recycle initiative.


14. O-Net
O-net is the largest telecommunications company within Ostaria and operates the nations main social media website, also named O-net. The company, based in Karlsberg, also manages telephone lines, cable television, and provides internet.


15. Grüßen Tech-Firm
One of the budding companies to come out of the south’s recent industrial growth, GTF made a splash onto the market with its WOTAN system, used mostly by the navy but is being adopted by the rest of the military. Aside from that, they producer computers, phones, and many civilian electronic products.


16. Wahrer Berater
True Advisor is a multi-state financial company based out of Amsel and tends to do much of its work for farmers and southern companies. The company offers financial asset management and insurance, as well as reinsurance. The company also has a small legal branch.


17. Karlsberg Maritime
Founded in its namesake city, Karlsberg Maritime and Shipping handles much of the nations ship designing, ship construction, and overseas cargo shipping. The company is notorious for working closely with dock workers unions.


18. GesLik
Geslik (recently renamed from GesReich) is the nations largest healthcare and medical company, producing medical technologies and pharmaceuticals along with providing healthcare and hospital management. From its HQ in Leopoldsburg, the company also works a great deal in chemicals for farmers.


19. Steylar Armory
You know this company. Perhaps tied for the most famous Ostarian corporation, Steylar would be Ostaria’s largest marketing company if not for their main product line, firearms. Designing a plethora of firearm designs for both civilian usage and military service, Steylar is a cultural icon as much as it is an important cog in the economic machine.


20. ION
ION is an electrical utility company and the southern counterpart to O-Net. Though they have ownership over Ostaria’s second most used social media website, Tele-line, IOn is more well known for their electrical work and their distribution of imported gasoline.
