The Directorate, In Summary

The Directorate of Zemedievai, or simply The Directorate, is a nation located in northeast Yastreovakia, bordering the Congregation of Brethren to the north. The Directorate is a complicated nation in the midst of important changes. The Triglav, who reigned the country as king for over a millennia, has handed control of the government to Chief Director Metternich, a man of Kampfian origin who seeks to modernize the country and bring it into a prominent place on the global stage.

The Director of Industry, Dusan Kruskal, seeks to handle a failing economy after he was appointed to a position many think to be cursed – the last three holders were assassinated, committed suicide, and resigned, respectively, over the past four years. Meanwhile, a faction of officials led by the Director of Education seek to oppose the grip the Director of Science, Branislav Kafka, seems to have over the country.

In the shadows, where magic, monsters, and gods live and breathe as legends come to life, a being known only as the Watcher summons his army of zealous mortals, spirits, and other magical servants, in a quest to destroy all supernatural life in the nation. Over the course of his war, he has crossed paths with a lost god named Gydvali.

Gydvali is the Deivos of Healing, who, after surviving nine murder attempts by rival gods, was cast into the sea. Now, Gydvali shares a body and mind with a mortal fisherman named Silvestras, whom he has recruited to seek revenge for his time imprisonment in the watery depths. The gods in question, led by an ancient spirit from another universe, Theondume, keep watch over their secretive realm, secretly behind the transition to power from the Triglav to Metternich.
