Despite Bernie Sanders’ Zionism, anti-communism, and pro-imperialist positions on many issues, millions of poor and working people at least see him as the best option for improving their material conditions. He’s the most viable candidate who supports universal healthcare, free college, and other policies that would benefit the country’s proletariat. So in a truly democratic system, he would be able to become president. But the Democratic Party has made this next to impossible.

The funny thing is that Bernie's policy is more in line with standard democrat rhetoric than anyone else. The DNC is absolutely terrified of people being honest and unhypocritical.

I'm on a delegation mission to seek an embassy with North Korea and seek to grow a close bond. We have worked with ome of your members, most recently being with the liberation of The Red Guards, and i believe some of you may also recognize our Revolutionary Mothers Zenny & Piper. My hopes are to grow closer ties to the leftist regions of NationStates, as well as keep a balance in our diplomatic relations with any other non-fascist region.

If someone could get back to me on your embassy requirements, please telegram me.

In Solidarity,
Morograd

Your region has several problematic embassies, most notably The Kingdom of Great Britain an openly Monarchist region.

Wintercrest has been forced into doing some more embassy cleanup lately. It appears we(I'm a citizen and diplomatic corps member)/they have an issue of questionable embassies in general.

In the pasts there was no policy to reject embassies with Monarchist regions such as The Kingdom of Great Britain, but i have been personally reviewing our policies regarding the stance in which our dealings with foreign relations already stands. My goal for Wintercrest is to still remain open for all friendly regions from all backgrounds, except those of capitalistic and fascist tags. I've been in discussion about closing the embassies with TKGB for this very reason that monarchist historically are not sympathetic to the people's revolutionary struggles. I do believe we'll end up planning to close the embassy soon.

I've been trying to flip our foriegn policy towards favoring relations closer to regions that are more aligned with our socialist core values, with hopes of uniting in solidarity with our fellow leftist comrades. There's a few things we do differently in the People's Republic of Wintercrest, but our goals to stand up against imperialism and fascism, with the sights set on spreading the proper education and influence of socialism across NationStates as a whole remains all the same. 😊7

U.S. public gets fake news about China’s alleged anti-Muslim campaign:
Since August 2018, the New York Times and other major U.S. and European media outlets, relying on thoroughly problematic sources, methods, and translations, have flooded the public with reports about China’s alleged campaign against the religion and culture of Uyghurs and other mainly Muslim ethnic minorities. The stories argue that hundreds of thousands, or even millions, have been held in “concentration camps” or “re-education camps,” and that China has forbidden ethnic minority Muslims from practicing their religion or using their own traditional languages. Supplementing these reports in the capitalist-owned media, stories of this type have been picked up without criticism by some popular progressive and left-wing publications. A careful examination reveals that these accusations are closely linked to a decades-long, multi-pronged assault by U.S. imperialism on Muslims and perceived Muslims throughout Asia, Northern Africa, and the U.S.

Inside an Indian 'special camp': 'We will either get out of here, or we will die here':
Tamil refugees, perhaps a third of whom are “Hill Country” or “Up-Country” Tamils – descendants of Indians transported in the 19th century by the British as indentured labour for Sri Lankan tea plantations – are tolerated, but they have few rights. And without a passport, it is illegal to leave the country. The majority, about 60,000, reside in more than 100 refugee camps, where they are under the surveillance of Q Branch – the intelligence wing of the Tamil Nadu police, originally founded to deal with the Naxalite movement and later refashioned to tackle Sri Lankan Tamil militant groups operating in the state.

Recently comrade Juchegang north korea outpost brought to my attention this post he made here: page=dispatch/id=1317649

I appreciate this constructive criticism for our region and apologize that your post didn't get a response until now.

The constitution as a whole needs to be redone style-wise at the least, it's gone through an initial version by our former founder and a large revision when we formalized the Armed Citizens system that may have led to some discrepancies. There needs to be more clarity on things like how Armed Citizens are chosen that you bring up.

This region isn't meant to be a Juche exclusive or roleplay region. The way we've organized is the product of years of experience here and the circumstances both on the site itself and in our region. We've gone through phases of elections for positions similar to other NS regions and so on. If we experienced significant growth the way we organize our region would need to change and adapt, and I believe some change is warranted now to rejuvenate the region as well.

The idea behind the Armed Citizen system was to give the levers of power that exist within the game to those willing to step up and contribute and who demonstrate that they can be trusted with those tools. Rather than have elections for positions that in a region with our size and level of activity would be largely unnecessary, we would rather you just go out and do what needs to be done or bring it to the attention of people here who can. We don't have an explicit procedure for everything but we've worked by a rough consensus between active comrades/Armed Citizens and polls for certain things. I would say that there needs to be a more formal structure in this regard and that relates to a need for more clarity in the constitution.

Recruiting for this region is difficult. For a variety of reasons we've essentially oriented ourselves as a 'cadre' region so to speak and our name is very divisive. I've come appreciate it in part because I enjoy being in a space that fundamentally is unwelcoming to anti-DPRK leftists. The unfortunate side to it is that recruiting from GCRs and so on brings a lot of people in here who're more interested in roleplaying some Orientalist fantasy of what they think the DPRK is than actual leftists.

This clears up a lot, thank you. For a region of this size and circumstance, perhaps it would be best to directly reach out to experienced NSLeft comrades who are comfortable with being active in various servers. Another consideration, on the discord servers for many leftist subreddits, there is a screening process in which new members answer a series of questions(what communist thinker do you admire the most and why, give your opinion on one of these people, how do you feel about HRT, do you consider yourself a feminist, etc.) Drawing from what you have said, it appears that the region is not committed to primarily representing the DPRK or being a purely ML and Juche space, which the constitution seemed to imply to me. Therefore, I believe it is worth investigating an approach that restructures our region towards a space for more serious leftist discussion of theory and current events. We already fulfill that role, but there are incongruencies between official documents and practice that should be resolved. I do not support this region existing in a strange limbo. I am still interested in learning more about the North Korea's history so I can better understand the context of our present situation, especially because the last thing I want to do is charge into a region blind with a bunch of radical ideas that ignore the wider regional situation. I hope I have not already done this.

Hello.

I joined this region because it seemed relatively well populated and sufficiently compatible with my state’s guiding ideology, the revolutionary science of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.

Welcome comrade Melakam! Just to clarify, are you an MLM in real life or just roleplaying for your nation? We have at least one Maoist comrade here in Comradeland and I'm pretty sympathetic to much of Mao's work.

Yes.

My state is supposed to be a multinational proletarian dictatorship in South Asia; a very hopeful outcome of the present strategic equilibrium in India’s Red Corridor.

But I am MLM IRL.

I will leave you with this before I sleep, considering the current election hype.
