Do you know what time it is? That's right, LaraLeague season is upon us once again! One and all, come to Edropia (and possibly clog up the international travel system) for the sports competition of the year, where your team of fabulous and fantastic footballers can play for glory. Make sure to sign up so you don't miss out! And remember, upvote the dispatch so more people see it.

LaraLeague June 2022
An international sporting event

Today's scores

Mistletoe Coast 5-4 Sidramye
Juta 6-5 Homyland

That's right folks, LaraLeague is back! After an intense competition back in November, Edropia won. So now, the nations of Laraniem and our embassy regions are back at it for another season of everyone's favourite sports competition.

How do I sign up?
There are two ways of signing up to this awesome, once-in-a-lifetime* competition:
  1. Fill in the form with your nation's name, your attack rating and your players' names. Or, if you don't want to personalise your team, you can provide your nation's culture and I can generate some names for you.

  2. Alternatively, you can telegram me (Koxor) with your players' names and your attack rating out of 10.

The form:

*Note: not actually once-in-a-lifetime. Terms and conditions apply or something

The Teams

The Rounds
There are 4 stages: the group stage, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the grand final. In the group stage, each of the four teams in each group will play each other once and compete to get the highest number of points - 2 points are gained from a win, 1 from a tie and 0 from a loss. After this, the best two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stages, where losing a game means you're out of the competition - so the stakes are high! First are the quarter finals, in which each of the 8 teams will play a random other team, and one from each match will be knocked out. This is the same in the semi-finals, with 4 teams, and then the final, with 2 teams. Whichever team wins the grand final (to be played on Saturday 25 June at Phoenix Stadium in Drefort) wins the tournament - and will host it next time in October!

LC CCCON#2.......seeking approval.

I'm a bit out of practice with this. Please tell me if anything needs fixing.

LC CCCON
"Citizenship"

Outline:

Establishing a system of citizenship and nation authentication in Laraniem.

Reasoning:

With no current system of citizenship, Laraniem's electoral system is at risk. No adequate process is in place to screen potential voters, to ensure that no puppet or fraudulent voting is taking place. For a democracy to be strong, there needs to be a secure process to elect our high-ranking officials.

Noting the existence of LC LWCON#2 "Eligibility for Voting", that puts measures in place to prohibit new and potentially suspicious nations from voting, within the first 30 days. However, there is no way to confirm after the set period of time, whether a nation is a puppet or unique nation.

Hereby:

    • Creates the status of "Citizenship" in Laraniem.

    • Automatically grants Citizenship to all World Assembly Members of Laraniem

    • Grants Citizenship to nations with a World Assembly membership associated with a primary nation, with residency outside of Laraniem, upon application.

    • No nation with a ban from Laraniem may hold Laraniemian Citizenship.

    • Amends LC LWCON#2 "Eligibility for Voting", to include that nations must have Laraniemian Citizenship in order to vote.

    • Citizenship is approved by the Founder, Viceroy, or Minister for Defence.

    • Citizenship may be revoked or denied for any sufficient reason, as determined by the Founder, Viceroy, or Minister for Defence.

    Resident:
the user of a nation in Laraniem.

    Puppet:
a secondary nation controlled by a user already residing in Laraniem.

    Fraudulent Voting:
as defined in LC LWCON#2 "Eligibility for Voting"

Best Hot Beverage is tea, Bengal Spice specifically, in my opinion. Don't even need to sweeten it. Just boil some water, steep your tea, and watch the night creep in after a hot Summers day.

Very nice. Is it more of a location-specific tea or is it widely available?

Hagston wrote:Very nice. Is it more of a location-specific tea or is it widely available?

Widely available as far as I'm aware. It's made by Celestial Seasonings.

New Hettic Football Team
Following the last LaraLeague the team has been wiped clean with a new strategy and new faces. This new team includes:
Josef Ihrling- Goalkeeper, at 17 years old he is the youngest national player yet, he comes from a family of poverty and has stated that if his team wins all of his money will support his family.
Aleksander Urvan- 25 years old and in his prime this Edropian immigrant is the star player, scoring 16 goals in just 19 games. Everyone is excited for what he can bring to the table this year.
Åschten Krëss- 24 years old, coming from a small town in Siglanden he has always had big goals, launching his own succesful jersey printing company at just 15, the same company that will be printing the jerseys for Hetland's team.

Weeellcome to Aleia! Please let us know if you have any questions!
