The Great Hall was abuzz with life.
Champagne glasses clinked and laughter and chatter rose throughout the room, accompanied by slow classical music. The conversations of dozens echoed throughout the decadent ballroom; nearly two hundred people had come to celebrate the third night of the week-long ceremony that would culminate in the wedding of the Tsaritsa and the Prince. Not only were the nightly balls a Hyperborean wedding tradition, they were a lovely opportunity for individuals of all different regions, families, and social classes to mingle, to meet each other, perhaps even strike up a conversation with the Tsaritsa and her fiancé or any one of the notable individuals found throughout the room.
In the midst of it all stood Princess Alana Chernovnaya, the sister of Prince Ksaryev, sipping a glass of whiskey. She was bored out of her mind, having only shown up in obligation to the requests of her brother. She wore an elegant light blue dress, which she kind of wished she hadn't worn - many compliments on the clothing had been given, and some had even tried to start a conversation with her, something that Alana was not in the mood for.
With a sigh, she downed the whiskey and went down to sit in a corner, finding little pleasure in mingling with the others.
