Well, i mean, political views are more like a horseshoe than a semicircle. Right and Left Wing extremists have a lot more in common with each other than with liberals or conservatives. Just look at the two leaders of Germany and the Soviet Union during the 40s. But don’t worry, all that matters is who your allies are, politics are less important than alliances and trade :)

What do you mean? You do need a free issue slot to get the issue. As for what you choose, I think the special issues are pretty much similar to regular issues, only that they are multiple issues that built off each other. But the long term effects aren't much bigger than that of any other issue. Was it the corruption scandal or what was the issue again? It's been a few years for me
