I initially supported the Russians when they annexed Crimea. The crimean peninsula had been Russian territory for centuries before the founding of the USSR, and the only reason it was made apart of Ukraine was because it was easier to govern it from Kiev than Moscow and they were both apart of the same country at the time. Russia has a very strong claim to Crimea, and Cdimea has historically been the most pro russian part of Ukraine and overwhelmingly speaks Russian as a first language.
Likewise I can find some sympathy for the breakaway republic's in the Donbass. Tho I belive that they are merely puppet states, and initially were just something to distract the Ukrainians from the annexation of Crimea.
Russia lost my support when it outright invaded Ukraine tho. Russia is clearly the aggressor in this conflict, and I belive they seek to impose Russian sovereignty on as much of Ukraine as possible regardless of the inhabitants wishes. They're claims that they are attempting to "denazify" Ukraine is laughable, especially considering that the Ukrainise president is Jewish. And I doubt that any referendums on wether a Ukrainian Oblast should join russia or not will be legetimant now that the russians can simply put a bullet in the brain of anyone that votes no.

2 : a Semi Constitutional Monarchy like Germany had when it was established in 1871
3 : a System of Tribal Clans who Govern themselves and the Heads of the Clans Elect a King. who deals with Foreign Governments (like the Scottish Highlands did in the 15th-17th Centuries)
4 : a Southern Baptist Theocracy.
5 : a Rightwing Populist Military Junta.

I am hoping and praying the Russians get their asses well and truly kicked. Unfortunately the reality is this is a war of attrition. While it turns out the Russian reserves are not in very good shape, the fact is the Russians have an enormous advantage when it comes to attrition.
