2nd Bombing in Vao'okoŕ

The aftermath on Élo Avenue

The Workers' Liberation Front; Enanélapā Libínas Nŕdego; ELN have struck again with a second bombing, this time more deadlier than the 16th of December Bombing. The bomb is believed to have been planted in a truck and left on one of Vao'okoŕ's busiest streets, Élo Avenue. At that moment, it was both rush hour and the market evening which police consider that the insurgents hoped for. The bomb blew up at 5:21 PM and resulted in chaos with emergency services delayed just like the 16th of December but for 16 minutes. The local and national government have set up checkpoints around the area with a daily police patrol and a temporary operations base and the police have already arrested two suspects - Zechariah Branco and Ovidio Paulozāfiolň for a possible connection with the bombing. Police estimates put the death toll at 266, most of whom died of fatal injuries - placing it as Wallenland's most deadliest terror attack.

Cases of Sora-24 in Wallenland on the rise

People line up outside a clinic in Okoŕ zā Saone Maria

Ever since the Mulfuliran Ministry of Health announced the Sora-24 Virus situation, cases have risen in Wallenland drastically. The Wallene Ministry of Health had reported 1,217 cases and 22 dead last week; now, it has risen to 1,632 cases and 47 dead. The MoH has sent out guides to the public on how to deal with an infected person, recommending a 3-week quarantine for less serious cases, and how to spot symptoms early. The government has swiftly banned travel to Mulfulira and surrounding countries and has been restricting travel within the nation. Some believe that the government isn't doing enough as hospital resources are inadequate despite past fears of diseases since the Ebola Epidemic in 2001 and that they are focusing too much on the military.

Hume and government face criticism for reported cover-up of early Sora spread
CHINGOLA - President Tayyib Hume and his government are facing mounting unpopularity and calls from opposition and much of the public to step down due to the initial secrecy surrounding the severity of the Sora-24 outbreak, which has currently seen widespread infection throughout the world, with at least 40 countries reporting cases, and today the Ministry of Health announcing that there have been 5,782 confirmed cases in Mulfulira in addition to 600 deaths attributed to the virus. Hume said of the calls for his government's resignation that he would not do so, vowing to see the crisis through to an end. But already the twice impeached president, who also announced his intention to seek reelection next year, has been accused by his own Minister of Health of restricting what information could be given to the public about the initial outbreak of Sora last month in Qubakh.

"President Hume purposefully and methodically misdirected the public by directing his cabinet to underreport and cover up initial outbreaks," Feridun Onut, the Director of the National Health Commission said on Sunday. "Our cases were far wider and more severe than what we announced on Friday, and it is clear to us that the President's compatriots wanted to decrease alarm by lying to not only our populace, but the world, which is now paying for it."

Initial public confirmations of an outbreak were made in late January, but the government had claimed that only a dozen or so cases had been detected and isolated, with 2 people in Qubakh having died as a result of the highly infectious and deadly disease. On Friday, Hume admitted that there were 217 confirmed cases and four deaths, and that several infected individuals may have left Mulfulira and traveled abroad. Since then (two days ago), testing has revealed 20 times the cases and far more deaths, set to well pass the grim toll of 647 people from the previous deadly Sora outbreak in 2002.

President Hume on Sunday finally ordered the closure of national borders and the suspension of all non-medical flights out of Mulfulira, an act which many say has come too late and with no purpose as most nations around the world have already suspended all travel too and from Mulfulira as a result of the outbreak. 40+ countries have reported outbreaks of Sora-24, directly traced back to people who traveled from Mulfulira in the past two weeks. Most significant in the statistics of the outbreaks can be seen in Wallenland, where inadequate health care facilities, an ongoing insurgency, and recovery from a volcanic eruption has seen a massive spike in cases and more than 40 dead. 6 people in Emmiria have reportedly died form Sora with at least 40 positive cases. Great Lutharia and Shoassau have also reported cases and at least one death in each nation. Similarly, Caspiaa has reported more than 60 cases, and though public health measures are in effect, the government has stated the 50th World Cup is expected to continue as scheduled in April.

An investigation into the source of the virus outbreak has reportedly traced back to a meat shop in Qubakh, where infected meat (likely sheep or goat) was sold to a family which was at the center of current tracing, and who have since died. The store, and the individuals who run the store, are not being publicly named for their safety, though the Health ministry tracing programs have gotten in contact with those who have come through that shop in the past month.

A testing site in Alsace

COURBAGNE- The Coalition Health Organization has issued a public health emergency of international concern due to the alarming rates of new cases and deaths from Sora-24, the deadly and highly contagious strain of the sora virus. More than 14,000 people around the globe have tested positive for the disease, with nearly 1,000 dead. At least 40 countries have reported positive cases, with only Ausiana appearing to have not detected contagions yet. CHO Director Baudouin Fétique issued the declaration two days after the Mulfuliran government admitted they lost control of quarantine for the virus.

Prime Minister William Eurenne today further tightened restrictions for the public health emergency, restricting all foreign travel for at least the next two weeks, and banning public gatherings in closed spaces for two weeks. Upcoming Premier 1 matches, including a division-determining game between Menerbes Union and FC Honfleur, will still be played though without crowds.

"This is certainly a testing time for our country and its healthcare infrastructural capabilities," said Eurenne, "and we know the hesitancy of the public to carry out and adhere to such positions, but this is vital to securing the health of our people and our neighbors."

Shoassau recorded a total of 80 cases of Sora-24 on Sunday, and twelve people have died as a result of the virus.

The Coalition Health Organization (CHO), which focuses on international health issues and disease eradication, is another of the CCA's largest agencies which founded in 1977. In 1982, the agency announced that the eradication of smallpox had been completed. In subsequent decades, CHO largely eradicated polio, river blindness, and leprosy. Additionally, the CHO co-ordinates the Coalition's global response to HIV/AIDS. The CHO is headquartered in Courbagne, New Elkland.

Among the more recent health crises that CHO has helped mediate are the 2022-23 Ebola virus pandemic, the 2019-21 bovine flu epidemic in Drambenburg and Shoassau, the 2012 Central Adula Ebola epidemic, and the 2009 Nortua flu pandemic.

First Case of Sora-24 in Bentho Confirmed

In response to the confirmed case of Sora-24 in Bentho, Caballero and his government have swiftly enacted measures to curb the spread of the virus and help protect public health.

The measures put in place in Bentho will be a two-week quarantine period and the closure of all schools and educational institutions. Those who work will transition to work on digital platforms whenever possible. These acts will help to minimize personal contact due to the virus being airborne. A mask mandate will also be put in place until March 25th.

The Health Minister of Bentho, Jose Gutierrez said today in a press conference, that these actions taken place by Caballero will help with the spread of the virus and that the mask mandate may be extended until the virus is managed.

TRAVEL SUSPENDED WITH ADULA AND NORTUA AS SORA CASES RISE
TOFINO - The Armitage administration has suspended all travel between Adula and Nortua for a period of three weeks, a historic and sweeping measure in an attempt to curve the spread of the highly contagious and deadly Sora-24 virus, which the Department of Health and Human Services says has infected at least 1,290 people, of which at least 200 have died in the deadliest viral outbreak in Zamastan in over fifty years. Public health advisories are in effect and most businesses across the country have mandated mask wearing indoors, social distancing, and sporting events have been either suspended or proceeded without audiences. President Armitage has postponed upcoming state visits to Nortua, where she was set to address the Alliance of Nortuan States in Elbresia, and made a televised address from the Presidential Mansion where she called the pandemic a "test of our nation's ability to overcome crisis, a test we will pass, through hardship but determination."

DAVIDSON SECURES GLP NOMINATION AS GUNN DROPS OUT
ALANIS - Arthur Davidson now has a clearer path to the presidency in September's general election, as the GLP's primary in Pahl province closed with overwhelming percentages for the Holish Islands' senator, and Euan Gunn determining to end his own campaign after falling far short of his stated goals, and ultimately endorsing Davidson. Davidson secured a whopping 83% of the GLP's primary vote in Pahl, with Gunn only taking 10% and other candidates emerging from the remaining 6-7%. With only 4 provincial primaries left to go, and Davidson soaring to the front of all polling in those races, GLP chairperson Ellis Jackson stated the party leadership would now rally behind Davidson as the presumptive candidate for president, and that all other efforts will be levied towards local elections to try and regain the Senate and maintain the lower Chamber in September.

TRAVEL SUSPENDED WITH ADULA AND NORTUA AS SORA CASES RISE

The Department of Health and Human Services confirmed a total of 1,290 cases in Zamastan

GLOBAL AFFAIRS CORRESPONDANT: Travis Canterbury (TravisCanterburyOfficial)
TOFINO - The Armitage administration has suspended all travel between Adula and Nortua for a period of three weeks, a historic and sweeping measure in an attempt to curve the spread of the highly contagious and deadly Sora-24 virus, which the Department of Health and Human Services says has infected at least 1,290 people, of which at least 200 have died in the deadliest viral outbreak in Zamastan in over fifty years. Public health advisories are in effect and most businesses across the country have mandated mask wearing indoors, social distancing, and sporting events have been either suspended or proceeded without audiences. The first reported patient with Sora-24 in Zamastan entered the country three weeks ago after traveling from Mulfulira. That patient reportedly died, but not after most of her family was infected with the highly transmissible virus. The majority of cases in Zamastan have been reported in the south, with more than 60% of all reported cases in and around Anchorhead. Other cases have been reported in Tofino, Providence, Jade Harbor, Titania, and Tregueux, but the administration's pursuit to battle the virus is to keep the detected cases isolated with treatment.

Armitage's administration is, however, facing criticism due to the fact that the Department of Health and Human Services does not currently have a secretary running the vital post. Armitage's infighting with her own party and the putting forth of a nominee who was widely distrusted by both the conservative and liberal blocs in congressional Hall led to the president deciding to refuse to put up a post. While the department is being run by the deputy, Charles Beller, and all essential functions have been reported as properly managed, the absence of a coherent leadership for the public has captivated negative tones. Additionally, failures to detect early cases of the disease brought negative attention to Alenchon province government officials.

Sora virus disease (SVD), also referred to as Sora hemorrhagic fever (SHF), is a viral hemorrhagic fever in humans. Symptoms typically start anywhere between two days and three weeks after infection. The first symptoms are usually fever, sore throat, muscle pain, and headaches. These are usually followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash and decreased liver and kidney function, at which point some people begin to bleed both internally and externally. It kills between 25% and 50% of those infected – about 30% on average. Death is often due to shock from fluid loss, and typically occurs between six and 16 days after the first symptoms appear. Early treatment of symptoms increases the survival rate considerably compared to late start.

The virus is transmitted when infectious particles are breathed in or come into contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. The risk is highest when people are in close proximity, but small airborne particles containing the virus can remain suspended in the air and travel over longer distances, particularly indoors. Transmission can also occur when people touch their eyes, nose or mouth after touching surfaces or objects that have been contaminated by the virus. The virus replicates very efficiently in many cells, producing large amounts of virus in monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells and other cells including liver cells, fibroblasts, and adrenal gland cells, through contact with mucous membranes or skin breaks which allows it to enter the bloodstream. Sheep and goats are believed to be the normal carrier in nature; they are able to spread the virus without being affected by it. Diagnosis is confirmed by testing blood samples for the presence of viral RNA, viral antibodies or the virus itself. People who have recovered are not infectious.

Armitage, regional governors, and Congressional Hall have all placed blame at various places, but a shared site is Mulfulira. President Tayyib Hume is under fire for reportedly having directed his government to coverup early outbreaks of the virus, which has left disastrous ramifications for effected communities.

DAVIDSON SECURES GLP NOMINATION AS GUNN DROPS OUT

Pahl's GLP primary resulted in overwhelming returns for Senator Davidson, and led Euan Gunn to drop out of the race and endorse Davidson.

POLITICAL AFFAIRS CORRESPONDANT: Edward Renene (EddyReneneOfficial)

"The people of Pahl have spoken," Davidson said, speaking to supporters in his victory speech in Alanis, "as have the people of Jade province, and Tregueux, and Verdesia, and the Northern Isle, and Gangkou, and the Holishes, and Alenchon, and Cayenne, and Lyonnais, and where we have not lost a single primary, we have seen the spirit of our party, of our nation's people, and the collective desire for a change in direction for our great nation!"

Davidson's campaign has now shifted towards a general election approach, with many ads on television from the campaign targeting the Armitage administration and highlighting policy proposals by Davidson to a national platform.

"I had hoped to stay in this race well into the final days of the provincial primaries, but I see the writing on the wall and I know that our party's path is determined to secure our nation's futue," Euan Gunn said in a concession, to disheartened supporters in Foreman City. "In that spirit, I am suspending my campaign, attributing all resources to helping my friend and colleague, and our next president, Arthur Davidson. Where we disagree in many policies, we are aligned in the pursuit of a new Zamastan, the end of un-ended conservatism in the executive, and the restoration of our nation's greatness."

Davidson leads President Armitage by nearly 20 points in most polls, still nearly 7 months out from the general election, but with rising popularity for his relatively moderate approaches to what many Zamastanians have cited as an unpopular administration. Armitage's reelection campaign manager, Harold Bannersnan, has also caught negative press over the weekend due to his comments of Davidson's family, directed towards his sister who works at a cultural exchange school in Yuan and calling her a "potential national security risk."

Panic in Sateroc as Sora Virus Spreads

      [KOLKESBURG • 27 FEBRUARY 2024]

(SBN) - Earlier today, the Saterocian Ministry of Health announced that there were at least 62 confirmed cases of Sora in the country, as unconfirmed reports of several cases all the way in areas such as the region of Cascutia had been floating around Saterocian media. However, it is speculated that there are many, many more cases that have gone unaccounted for as the deadly virus spreads throughout Saterocian territory.

The local governments of Saroq, Svartrosk, and Mounel have announced that they would be imposing a total lockdown in response to the rising cases, shutting down airports and seaports as the government in Kolkesburg issued travel warnings for several regions which have seen Sora virus cases skyrocket. Kolkesburg has also announced that it would imposing a mask mandate and social distancing policies across the nation due to fears over the virus spreading into the rest of the nation, following 3 confirmed cases being announced in the city of Qaqarsville. Public events and gatherings were cancelled as well, with the government announcing that it would fine those who attended public gatherings.

With the virus finally reaching Sateroc, days of waiting have finally ended with the confirmation of cases in the Saroq region. As many have described it, the past few days have been filled with tension as the virus slowly made its way up to Sateroc, nation-by-nation. According to unofficial reports, the first person to have contracted the Sora virus was an older man travelling back from Mulfulira after a few days in the country. He presumably spread the virus to fellow travellers and relatives back home in Elmonton. According to official reports, he is currently in critical condition, fighting for his life in order to prevent himself from being the first victim of the fatal virus in Sateroc.

The Sora virus, otherwise known as Sora hemorrhagic fever, is an infectious virus transmitted by particles which can enter a person's body throuh their eyes, nose, or mouth. One infected, a person will typically experience symptoms anywhere between two days and three weeks after being infected. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, rash and decreased liver and kidney function, with both external and internal bleeding in some cases, usually later in the infection. Those who are infected usually have a 70% chance of surviving by the time symptoms start to show.

The virus first appeared in Mulfulira from unknown, before spreading worldwide beyond the country's borders and into ofher nations. As the virus rapidly spread throughout the world, Sateroc's health ministry braced for impact, making the decision to shut down schools nationwide and forms of public transportation early, before the first few cases were officially reported in the country.

Asked about the handling of the virus, President Slach had this to say to reporters:

Pres. O. Slach ". . . my administration will work to the maximum to make sure the virus- to make sure that the amount of fatalities is limited. Of course, there will be deaths, and we pray for those poor souls, but it is something we cannot avoid. What happens next is in the hands of the people."

The virus comes at a crucial point, as elections are scheduled to be held this June in order to select Sateroc's leader following the brutal internal conflict that tore the country apart in 2023. Nearly a year after the beginning of the war, Saterocians continue to seek ways to rebuild their lives, however the ongoing pandemic could jeopardize these efforts. Candidates vying for Sateroc's presidency could also use President Oljon Slach's handling of the health crisis as a way to sway the population in their favor, depending on how he handles it in the coming months.

Panic in Sateroc as Sora Virus Spreads

The virus is due to have a large impact on Sateroc at a crucial point in politics

Even as infections begin to curb, 5,000+ have died of Sora in Mulfulira
The Coalition Health Organization (CHO) released updated tolls from the Sora virus pandemic in Mulfulira, stating that while infections are curbing downwards in a positive development attributed to isolation measures, at least 5,000 people have died as a result of the highly infectious disease and more than 40,000 total cases have been known. President Tayyib Hume, still facing heavy pressure from both the public and opposition leaders to resign over his government's handling of the crisis, said on Monday "that while the toll is heavy to bare, the trend is moving downwards and we can see a light."

The CHO report stated that the spread of the Sora virus is still a threat and of grave concern, though recent trends have shown its multiplication factor having declined in the past week since global attention to the virus spurred shutdown and distancing measures across the globe. In Mulfulira, the epicenter and heaviest hit nation for the pandemic, public officials have been clamping down hard on those who break curfews and mandated lockdown periods, with prison sentences and strict fines being levied. President Hume faced early criticism for not doing anything in the way of protective policies, but has now come under fire for being too "authoritarian" in response, as one opposition leader stated.

"It's rules for thee and not for me," MP Kurtt Duvina said, referencing the President's personal lax affairs. "First he refused to shutdown outbreak spots, and only after his negligence and refusal to take command led to the global pandemic we now see, he began to impose criminality on those who did nothing but suffer under his failure."

Janapa begins to reopen following two-week-long lockdown, but travel restrictions remain in place
President Kendrick Mehans authorized tourism industries to begin reopening procedure, following a nearly two-week long lockdown of Janapa as the government's response to the unmitigated spread of the Sora virus. Initial fears of an outbreak in Janapa, combined with the country's underdeveloped healthcare service sector prompting concerns on how it would plausibly be handled, led to Mehans authorizing a full shutdown of the country. 6 total cases were recorded in Janapa since February 20th, with one fatality as a result. Janapa's decision to fully lockdown the country is in contrast to most other nations, where only localized lockdowns have been instated for areas with outbreaks, and widely speaking only cautionary procedures have been implemented like mask wearing and social distancing.

Janapa's lockdown has received praise for effectively curbing any spread of the highly transmissible virus to the densely populated islands, but also received a share of backlash for its suddenness and restrictiveness. One local the Coastal spoke with stated that while he was frustrated with the lockdown, he understood its importance and the effect it had, and said that he was glad it only lasted two weeks.

"I was quite bored," he said. "I'm glad the impact wasn't dramatic here, as it was elsewhere."

Of the 6 reported cases, 5 have since recovered and are continuing isolation as a precaution, and one patient died.

Strict travel restrictions are still in place in Janapa: Janapan nationals have been warned against traveling abroad, and all people arriving in Janapa from the few areas still allowed full travel are mandated to vigorous health screenings upon entering customs and are then placed into 2-day quarantine to monitor for symptoms.

"We aren't taking any chances," Mehans said. "This is the reality of this disease. We can reopen to our communities, but the world needs to destroy the virus before we return to full travel allowance."

Hello! I hope everybody is having a fantastic day!

I would say that, for me, a figure like that would be Maggie Moriano, who helped women's rights as the first female Prime Minister of the nation.

Deaths from Sora-24 rapidly rises to 300+

A mother in queue to an infirmary, Bándarilálaoti

Only 9 days have passed and the death toll has significantly risen to 336 with another 5,851 cases - the second highest in death and cases throughout Iearth. The Wallene Ministry of Health has issued warnings for domestic travel and has closed down nearly all travel to the rest of Iearth with Minister of Health, Abdollah Lénlopā'espŕdŕ, saying in a recent broadcast to "stay calm and remind your family and kids to stay calm [...] Wallenland will forever persevere in such times", yet health facilities remain inadequate and are being underfunded - pressuring PM Kortéz Okoŕzāláhŕtimemālopíg in his rerun for the premiership in August.

Unusual 'rain of fish' in Élozājāpa

Photograph taken after the peculiar event on the outskirts of Saon Kōrdairopāsedádi

A rain-storm that lasted for about 6 hours had left an unexpected aftermath - fish. Locals that walking or driving outside were hit by a "sudden swarm of flying fish", one local puts it and another stated that it was a "strange miracle" as many decided to take home these flying fish in shopping bags, baskets and even shirts. Local authorities have spent time to clean up the fish on public roads, obviously citing safety risks, and local churches and food charities have jumped to help with the clean up in exchange that the fish be given to them to feed the many.

EAST CHANCHAJILLA ENDS SORA VIRUS TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
VILANJA - President Augustin Pastor authorized the reopening of East Chanchajillan ports of entry, saying that the travel restrictions put in place to combat the spread of the Sora virus had been successful, and that less than 100 cases in East Chanchajilla over the past month have since recovered or passed. While travel restrictions have been lifted, mask mandates are still enforced in public areas and most La Liga games are not being played with audiences, but President Pastor said the "end of this hard period is just in reach now." Throughout the past month, 29 people died of Sora in East Chanchajilla. Cases worldwide appear to be dropping, the citing for Pastor's decision was made on that account.

Jail riot in Turania kills 18
At least 18 prisoners have been killed during a fight at a jail in Turania, officials say. Police were called in to help restore order after prisoners attacked another group of inmates at the main jail in the regional city Tecigalpa. It is the second such clash in East Chanchajilla in recent days. Last week nine inmates died during rioting at a prison in the northern city of San Sula. The violence is blamed on overcrowding and gang rivalry within prisons.

Brauner and conservatives sweep general election, regaining majority
Conservative Party candidate Levi Brauner has defeated incumbent Chancellor Kennedy Telgado as his party made a historic gain in the national legislature and is posed to take majority in the next week. Brauner had been raising historic funds in campaigning the past three months, taking advantage of what he and his party call "reckless and potentially catastrophic" economic policies by Telgado. Brauner and the conservatives made significant and crucial gains in key districts which had previously been essential to Telgado achieving her second term in 2020, and her underperformance in those areas is credited with denying her a third.

"We are returning Utobania to where it needs to be," Brauner said. "Let's start again."

Is anyone interested in having a Mormon-like, perhaps even Evangelical, Christian group leave their nation in around the 1910s for Wallenland in preparation for the 'final days'?

Amid militancy in the south, Usavi announces elections will be held next month
Elastani forces have hit Panwar-loyalists in Yuner province

ERITBA - Interim-president Hossein Usavi stated that nationwide democratic elections will be held to formally establish a new parliament, 16 years after elections were suspended by ousted-president Bahadar Panwar. Elections will be held next month, with Usavi intending to run alongside Prime Minister and longtime political partner Mayadav Roubi, with other parties emerging to also seek the executive. As Panwar remains in exile in De Yuan, the Elastani people have slowly begun adjusting to a democratic system.

Meanwhile, General Silmi Hassan, the Chief of Transitional Security, stated that Elastani troops killed up to 60 militants as a punishing ground and air offensive against former-regime fighters in the country's southwest ran into fierce resistance on Friday, the military said. The army pounded True Elasti Revolution (ETR) positions for a sixth day since launching its latest assault under international pressure after the hardliners advanced to within 100 kilometres (60 miles) of the regional capital Hasaveli.

As Beleroskov's Defense Minister, Arkadiy Yaroslavovich, visited Eritba to communicate a possible defense aid package for the fledgling new government, between 55 to 60 militants were killed in the last 24 hours in the district of Yuner, where the "operation is continuing successfully," a military spokesman told a briefing update at army headquarters. Based on combined tolls released by the military, nearly 200 militants have been killed in Operation Retribution since tanks, fighter jets and helicopter gunships swung into action in Yuner.

The Tree Elasti Revolution, comprised of roughly 20,000 estimated fighters who sided with Panwar despite his ouster in December amid a pro-democracy coup, have held out in the southern mountain regions along the border of Jaginistan and Hordestan. The militant campaign has proved to be a serious challenge for the government of interim-President Hossein Usavi, who pledged this week not to let the country's nuclear weapons arsenal fall into the hands of militants.

The Summer Olympic Games are upon us!

Hello, everyone! While the World Cup begins in two weeks, the Summer Olympics are coming soon down the road - we're aiming for a start date around August! Rather than opening the entire region for host city selection, the Olympic Team and I have made the difficult, albeit we believe best decision, to reach out to four nations to submit highly detailed host bids in order to diversify and increase competition for the Games. With that said, we have the following host cities to choose from;

I have sent out a regional telegram with the list of every category that will occur during the Olympics! As per the instructions within the telegram, you may pick a maximum of 20 to participate in. If you did not receive a telegram, let me know and I can send you another one (I will not be sending any through discord, only through telegram). You have until July 31st to make your preferred Olympic Team!

As always, it should also be noted that just because you select an event does not mean you'll win. Nothing is guaranteed, except for friendly competition! There has been a lot of negative discourse surrounding a sentiment of "what's the point if I'm not going to win?". That's not the attitude we should be having - we should be excited to have a huge event for global interaction! With that said, there are actually plenty of things that everyone will be guaranteed: spots in the Olympic Games; qualifying rounds; a chance to win; and above all, an absolutely fun time. Can't wait to see you all at the Summer Olympics!

LIVE: Hospital 'hit by PRQ army'
Though the ceasefire between Feyt Ayat and the Zakaraban government remains steady, the situation has changed in Qahazar

A self-proclaimed People's Republic of Qahazar militia has killed 91 people at a makeshift hospital inside a civilian safe zone in the last two days, two doctors with the Zakaraban government have told international press. The doctors said bombardments from the army had killed 64 people on Monday, including patients, their relatives and bystanders in Waraq. About 87 people were injured. The PRQ has denied bombing the hospital, saying that Feyt Ayat rebels carried out suicide attacks, despite Waraq being far from the CCA-moderated ceasefire line and a two-month peace between Kurdajar and Zakaraban staying steady. An image from a doctor in Waraq apparently showing damage to the makeshift hospital there. A spokesman for the PRQ army said that although soldiers had heard explosions in the area, they had not fired any shells. The army had not used heavy weapons for some days, he said, since the government announced on Monday last week that it was halting its use of heavy weapons in the conflict zone. The army spokesman said the PRQ had launched eight suicide attacks in the space of two days.
