Region: Union of Allied States

Post by Civitas ambassador suppressed by South Waterford.

Civitas ambassador

Hello everyone! The civitas islands here, I’ve sent this ambassador nation because embassy posting privileges seem to be revoked.

I’d just like to say a few things with regards to what Gazoo of Zetox has been saying.

First of all, the decline of this great Union started long before my departure. Many of us, myself included, attempted to revive this Union by various means, but for reasons I won’t get into, it seemed to no avail.

Secondly, my reasons for departing were numerous, but Gazoo’s notion that I left because I had a magic fix it bill “couldn’t get the votes” to pass, is simply false.

The main reason I chose to leave was I found myself increasingly butting heads with my friend South Waterford. How best to fix this region was a point of debate between us, and as someone who had risen to the become a leader in this Union, I became increasingly more at odds with the Chairman over this issue.

This disagreement got to the point where I was openly challenging the powers of the founder and his position in attempts to seek the change that I believed this Union desperately needed.

In the end, the disagreement regrettably became personal, and that is when I saw that I had reached the maximum of my potential in this region, and I decided to try my luck at founding my own.

Gazoo’s claims that this new region, the Republic of Allied States, failed. This is also false. In just a month of founding, I had grown the Republic to over 100 nations, larger than the UAS was at the time, and still is. The republic also had a fully functioning government, complete with an active legislature, staffed executive, and knowledgeable justiciary. Multiple pieces of legislation were passed, and the discord server had become a relatively active community.

The Union is still not living up to those expectations.

I remember when this Union used to be, as the new arrival has said, a home. For reasons that I won’t get into here, but are on obvious display for everyone to see, that vision has soured.

Ultimately, I made the decision to merge with a larger, more active region, the Confederation of Corrupt Dictators. The Confederation is large, active, and despite the name, full of friendly people and diverse ideology.

The Confederation maintains active embassy relations with the Union to this day, and we consider each other allies.

The former residents of the Republic who made the jump are thriving in the Confederation. I myself have achieved multiple positions, not only acting as a Legislator, but a Judge as well as a cabinet minister. Many others have found their niche, whether it be as a legislator, a meme based socialite, or a member of our active and extensive roleplay.

This is far from what I would consider failure.

I’d also like to say that the attitude of the Chief Judge being so openly hostile to allies of this region, such as myself and Cappedore is unwarranted and disheartening.

Lastly, I’d like to say I hold no resentment against this Union, nor it’s citizens. I wish the best for the recovery of what was once a great region, and a community of friends.

Long Live the Union!
