Region: Okanagan

Okanogan is on the United States side of the border. I really don't think that there is any fact to the legend about the Ogopogo being in Lake Okanagan. It is said to live near Squally Point across from Peachland. I think that it has to be a sturgeon that can get several feet long in the bigger lakes like Okanagan. I've seen them get that big in Lake Huron near Manitoulin Island, and Lake Michigan near Green Bay. I cannot see them getting that big in the Okanagan too. Of course, now that the lake has been dammed off from the lower river system, I cannot see there being any chance of big fish like that surviving now.
