Gates of horn and ivory

I was taking a gander through the calendar of this place. Quite delightful. Hope this season of "Doom and Gloom" is treating folks well enough. The air is thick with it, over here.

Strasbourg, the self-proclaimed "Christmas Capital", is in the swing of festivities. Festivities means gathering and gathering means super-spreader event (possibly, don't want to jinx it).

oof. Yeah, that is worrying. How did it fare last year? Were people more cautious? Was there a surge in cases afterward?

(it's kind of crazy that this will be the second Christmas during this pandemic)

God jul, Agora!

I haven't blessed you people with my wisdom for a while now ... so instead I'll bless you with someone else's wisdom. Meet Matt Inman, aka The Oatmeal, and his comic about creativity. You're welcome.

I haven't felt so blessed in a long time, thank you for your many blessings.

While I haven't spent much time on NS as of late, I think I'm slowly starting to gain interest once more. And just in time for the seventh year of Agora!

I'm happy that despite the apparent dormancy of this region, it's still here after all this time. Maybe with the pandemic coming to end, the confluence can slowly begin springing to life once more, with markets and businesses opening their doors again. I'm also happy that we have Iescech indefatigably turning the wheels of time for us, otherwise I fear the poor WFE would've been stuck two years ago

And thank you to Janis for turning the wheel of time today and all the other days I was asleep at the wheel. Wow, seven years of Agora, I must’ve been a kid back then…

I think the dormancy speaks to the fact that we have actual lives and are living them out in the real world, a great thing! Agora exists wherever, whenever we want, on and off NationStates.

I didn't realize the region was founded on April Fools Day...very fitting

I can indeed confirm that the real world is taking up a great deal of my time and focus...though I would hesitate to call it "having an actual life" :P

Just perusing the Agoran Calendar, once again, because I love the idea of it so much.

"Mole 19th: Iescech's Birthday"

You share a birthday with Tim Curry and my sister, Iescech. Hope it was a good one.

Haha, Tim Curry and your sister, huh? That makes it even more special! Thanks a lot, it was very fun indeed :)

Hey, all!
Before Mole CTE'd he had mentioned several times that he thought it might be cool to have drawings done of the residents of Agora. Recently, I was going through our old telegrams and found snippets of our conversations about it and thought it might be cool to actually start on that project. Admittedly, I've been bad about practicing for a while, so the art might not be amazing, but I'll certainly try.
So, if you all have any ideas as to how your Nationstates personas might look like, I would appreciate a description or even a simple sketch :)

That's awesome. I remember Roborea had an idea of what I, or rather, my character looks like

Roborea wrote:Kind of slim, dark blue outfit. Platinum-blonde hair. Boyishly chiseled features.

He even drew a sketch, I might still have it lying around somewhere...

That's fun, what a good idea.

I was only here a short while before Mole left and the region became more inactive, so I never quite developed much. However, given my nation's dualistic character, I suppose I've been thinking of there being a sort of two person team at the front. Probably Laurel and Hardy types. One, slight and quick and anxious, with light wispy hair. The other, larger and bumbling and goofy, with heavy dark curls.

If I may ask, do you have thoughts about your own persona?

That sounds like fun!

I have no real idea of what my NationState would look like, but some ideas do come to mind... I might draw a pixel art sketch.

You can't go wrong by drawing a sphere with legs. Assuming you have legs, of course. A sphere with flippers would be cool too ... though a little less practical for trips to the mall.

Hey y’all! I felt a dose of nostalgia so I decided to bring the Commonwealth back from the dead and see how everyone was doing, what’s up?
