Sadly, due to Tapatalk being the greatest forum destroyer in NS History, we're currently without our RP Forum.

By all means, consider yourself a fellow Wysterian.

What is Tapatalk and what happened?

Invisionfree was for many early NationStates regions the go to forum format for regional forums. The drive for 3rd party forums was partly due to the NS forums being an unusable dumpster fire back in 2002-03. Like all tech horror stories, Invisionfree was eventually bought by someone wanting everyone to switch to their forums. The way Tapatalk is run meant that many hobby, personal, and NS forums have been lost along the way. It kind of makes me wish we'd switched to ProBoards instead trying to work with Tapatalk.

As Archer would say: "Let slip the hogs of war!"

Have I missed this shindig?

Many of us missed it. I had intentions of giving it a shot or seven, but someone else missing a deadline, pushed me into different deadlines, so free time was the first casualty of the war.

Thanks for the sticky ribs, though

Any leftovers left, Wysteria? Happy Belated Canadian Thanksgiving, from Texas!

Wow this place still exists. Unbelievable.

You don't believe it? I've been here since 2002.

Hi Big Tex! Equus made dinner and I've been eating Thanksgiving leftovers all week, which is pretty awesome. Sadly the pumpkin pie is gone and the cheese sauce is no more, but there's still gravy and stuffing.

Its incredible how long Nationstates has lasted. I originally founded this nation back in 2003 when I was a university student sitting through an exceedingly boring statistics class with my old IBM Thinkpad laptop (which I still have). Never imagined it would have lasted this long.

I started this when I saw a link in a gaming forum of home brew rules D&D, when there were a number of NS regional communities being created from forum communities. I struck out on my own right away with some real life friends and then people just started arriving out of nowhere. The way things come and go online, it's amazing that NationStates still exists. I'm planning to keep the lights on in Wysteria until it too finally comes to an end, but NationStates somehow just keeps ticking along.

In those early days I was using a dial-up modem, which resulted in some of my friends feeling the need to drive to my front door if they wanted to get together because the line was always busy. It's like none of them heard of carrier pigeons or something...

I suffered with dial-up at home at that point as well. Fortunately, I had access to my school's much faster network...no wireless yet at that point in time, had to connect with a homemade ethernet cable. Once connected though, I was able to waste my time surfing the internet with Netscape Navigator or logging on to ICQ or Grokster....anything except paying attention during lectures. Funny how NationStates has outlasted all of them.

Join the fight! Research the Cure (option 2), wait for Cure Missiles to be developed, and then launch them at your Wysterian neighbours.

Research started...

First Set of Cure Missile Targets:

We begin the first series if Cure Missiles targeted at, in order, starting with Pendulous, then we in order go to Koffee, then Nak nak, then Ummagumma, then Feckface, then The Bruce, then The Grendels, then Obstinacy, then Righteous Lefties, then Techno, then Go Canucks Go, then Isla Vista, then The knight who says ni, then finally Complete Bastards, after which we begin the next series of nation states.

The largest nations need to be targeted first, but someone has been tasked to work on the smaller nations as well so they’re not forgotten in the mayhem.

Second Set of Cure Missile Targets:

We begin the second series if Cure Missiles targeted with Equus, then we in order go to Augustalia, then Tremalkier, then Mackintosh, then Iyari, then Marldeep, then Norvikeland, then Fortune1, then Zamberdaf, then Wysterian Territories, then Deep south borland, then Hydroponic Nation, then Aukaria, then finally Drakkel, after which we begin the next series of nation states.

The largest nations need to be targeted first, but someone has been tasked to work on the smaller nations as well so they’re not forgotten in the mayhem.
