It's funny to see the left and right argue being a centrist and agreeing with both of their points.

I'd like to make a quick post regarding the Junta.
With the resignation of Nimbys, United regions of israel and Chokoku, three very active members of the region who seem to be taking breaks or a permanent leave from Nationstates, this has brewed this into a slight crisis.
As has been said before, I'm working on an updated constitution and I'm hoping to have this to the Junta completed hopefully tonight, or at the latest Thursday night. As the constitution shall make most former laws void, I shall be relying on Cappedore to help me write the new government procedures, and update the laws the judicial system relies on.
Then, hopefully we can continue as normal and fix this situation. But, this will require the activity of Junta members.
Thank you,
- Leria
Hello, I'm back

True!!
They are socialist!!!
what are the difference? they are socialist!
Gazoo sad to see you are taking a break but Gazoo understand
Many Christians call themselves followers of Christ, yet they seem to be the most defiant of the Bible outside of their stance on homosexuality, abortion, and marriage.

Unimportant statement but I also will be needing a break from NS and in the future may quit altogether. Just depends on where the region goes from here. Thanks for everything.
dropping like flies.
Yes, Gazoo agrees with this. But many need to find Jesus in their lives!
Gazoo is sad to hear this!
Yes! This is getting serious!
Yes, Gazoo doesnt get in just one day Gazoo have a lot notifications! Gazoo is get a lot telegrams and messages and notices
Gazoo, how about your church finds tolerance before it expects us to "find jesus". The first person I came out to was my parish priest, because I was ashamed of who I was and wanted to "become straight". That priest told me being bisexual meant i was normal with "depraved tendencies" and I was a risk to my friends in case i "molested" them. That priest encouraged me to seek conversion therapy, or risk eternal damnation in hell.
And then - I became "that gay" and found Troye Sivan's music. Just listen to "HEAVEN" to get a glimpse into this problem. A small excerpt is below...:
Without losing a piece of me
How do I get to heaven?
Without changing a part of me
How do I get to heaven?
All my time is wasted
Feeling like my heart's mistaken, oh
So if I'm losing a piece of me
Maybe I don't want heaven?
That song is about realising you'll never be accepted by your religion, those who'd always said they'd protect you, turning against you. Those nice ladies you'd speak to after church who'd give you a biscuit and natter about your week? They see you as an evil virus of satan. Your nan? Sees you as a lost cause, headed straight to Satan. Your priest? wants you to "convert"
Luckily for me, my parents realised that was disgusting, and the church was filled with homophobic nutcases. Again, not to be "that" gay, but I'd encourage you all to watch the film "Boy Erased" to even try and get a glimpse into these churches, and this "conversion therapy". Because, I realise now that I don't need to change, I can live and love who I like.
To quote another Troye Sivan song:
It’s a revelation
There's no hell in what I've found
And no kingdom shout
How the tides are changing
As you liberate me now
And the walls come down
And sure, the whole gay thing is just a singular issue with the church? The fact they threaten people into following their moral guidelines under the looming threat of "satan" and hell? The fact that several churches (not just catholicism) have institutionalised sexual abuse, and then attempted to cover it up. And yes, in the words of Tim Minchin:
If you build your church on claims of f*cking moral authority
And, with threats of hell, impose it on others in society
Then you, you motherf*ckers, can expect some f*cking wrath
When it turns out you've been f*cking us in our motherf*cking ass
I now count myself among the brilliant Stephen Fry, Sandi Toksvig, Margaret Atwood, David Baddiel, Ricky Gervais and many others as Humanists. We believe in doing good for the sake of humanity, not to please a deity or secure ourselves tickets to an unknown afterlife. As shown, Humanists include some of the most important scientists and physicians of modern times, as well as leading writers and artists, politicians, actors and entertainers, athletes, journalists, human rights activists, and academics. Humanists have made and are making a powerful contribution to human well-being.
Throughout recorded history there have been non-religious people who have believed that this life is the only life we have, that the universe is a natural phenomenon with no supernatural side, and that we can live ethical and fulfilling lives on the basis of reason and humanity. They have trusted to the scientific method, evidence, and reason to discover truths about the universe and have placed human welfare and happiness at the centre of their ethical decision making.
I don't need Jesus to frighten me into doing good, I can do good for my own sake, for my community's sake, for society's sake. I'll end on Humanists UK's infamous bus campaign in 2009; "There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."
