Giovanniland wrote:Thank you! It's interesting how the article idea was created - first it was just a casual idea of writing about Brazil that I had while talking in a Discord server, but then I shared the idea with the rest of staff and Bran Astor had the brilliant thought of making it a full-fledged column in which other people can also share information about their own culture. As a reminder to everyone, we at the newspaper staff are looking for people who would like to participate in this Culture in Focus column. Please feel free to telegram me or send a DM in Discord if you're interested!

Hello! I am from Peru (your neighbour!) and I thought your column was very interesting, it was great! I once went to Rio city, there was delicious food, great people and an amazing view. About Brasil-Japan, I believe Brasil has the most Japanese people that live outside their own country (Peru is number two). I would like to be on the newspaper, however, last time I tried, I couldn't enter to the forum/discord. ¿How do I enter to the forums/discord? (So that I can DM you).

Please calm down, some of our residents (including myself) aren't native English speakers so they are fine speaking other languages, as long as a translation is provided.

The message board rules can be found here and I would recommend checking our new player guide as well.

Hello. I'm not new to this game I'm just checking in.

Why has the Rmb gone silent? (Sorry if I'm double posting).

Sorry, I was busy sipping coffee.

Guess I need a refill.

Finally a person! Hi my name is Croatialand nice to meet you. :)

Thank you most kindly. Folks around here tend to call me Westie, or West, though I tend to sign things 'WW'. Ah, but lets not be too hasty. Not everyone defines 'person' the same way. We've had Delegates that were Horses, Dragons, and others. *chuckles*

Make yourself at home, though you'll find more chat, RP, government, et al on our Discord Server. And just a piece of advice, but be careful of double-posting, as it is frowned upon and can get suppressed. We try to remember to use the Edit button to update posts rather than add a second post.

We're probably the quietest of all Pacifics, but we take pride on that since it means we have more quality discussions rather than quantity of posts. Also, do avoid to double-post in the future since you can use the Edit button: here is our RMB etiquette.

That's awesome, great to see more South American representation here! I visited Peru once when a child, though I only remember going to Lima and Machu Picchu - the obvious touristic places everyone goes to - so maybe in the future I could travel to other cities. You can join the discord and forums in the links shown in our World Factbook Entry of our main regional page ("Join our Forums" and "Join our Discord" respectively), but if you're not comfortable to join them for some reason, my telegram inbox is also open to talk about participating in the Culture in Focus newspaper feature.

Hi, I am Blue Bubble, but I often go by Em, or Bubble. I am one of the newer people to TWP and the Regional Guides. I also now work on the Newspaper, having written my first article this month.
If you are new to TWP or NationStates, Regional Guides are those who not only plan TITW posts, but other regional activity too. You can read more here: New Player's Guide.

Today is Punday Monday! Give us some mom (Or mum) puns!

P.S., don't forget to pick up your copy of The Western Post!

Em? Great! I think we know you from another region!

They're a new player, so I think you're confusing them with another player - I do know at least two other Em's in NationStates since that's a common nickname.

We apologize. We sometimes forget about the global reach of NationStates.

Nice to meet you! The Em we know is on NS Leaders Discord.

Ok, so I’ve discovered something interesting. I recently decided to remove the door from my office, and afterwards my tax rate lowered by .34%. I’ve done some calculations. Assuming my upper class accounts for 10% of the population, using the average income of the rich and poor, the total income of everybody in my country combined would be roughly $4,086,971,666,000. Given my effective tax rate is 52.63%, the government’s annual tax income would be $2,150,973,187,815.8. .34% of that is $7,194,308,838.5737. Apparently, people were breaking my door so much that it was costing over seven billion in annual maintenance.

I need to hire better security.

I`m in California, representation wouldn`t be so easy but my name is Richmond, renamed after the confederate capital from Virginia.
North American policies are good here, despite some attempted murder.
Barely any taxes here. I would be a proud man.
I am democratic! Take down the republic of Biden!
Defeat those corrupt people! We shall never fall!
