I hope everyone is doing well in these terrible times.

It's a sobering reminder, I hope everyone else is doing well too.

So this is what passes for RP now:

Ugh.

What did I just read? Can something like that make you dumber? Like eating lead? (Like a straight up hunk of lead, not paint chips, not bad pipes)

Thank you for the assist. I think the research cure option was nerfed (I mean, more than usual). It it took me nearly the whole outbreak before I even got any Mk 1 Immunizers. Meanwhile, my zombie hordes were growing like gangbusters. At one point I was ranked with the highest Z and survivor populations at the same time. :o

Sorry guys, I'm always super busy Halloween, between kids old enough to trick or treat finally and my wife being a practicing Wiccan it's almost as intense as Christmas lol.

Happy twentieth NS!

Obvious red flags: no mention of the Kardashev scale, no mention of Gundams. I mean, c'mon, at least commit to what you're doing!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!

Oh my, listen to this story.

So I am at work right. Minding my own business, sick as a dog, early in on overtime. Last Friday night. Killer stomach ache, not the worst I've had, but still pretty bad. Trying to fight through because I'm the only Captain on my shift that can do the schedules right now. Super important because we are switching programs and if we have Garbage In we will have Garbage Out.

I get up to get some water for this stomach ache. End up only making it a few feet before I throw up, I won't gross with details but that was the worst ever. Finally finish, call my Sgt. up to help me. Call my manager to let her know I have to go home. Not going to stay if I'm puking.

Well my Sgt. gets up there and takes one look at me and calls a Rapid Response(Emergency Medical situation in the hospital that gets you 1 MD, 1 Administrative Supervisor, 2 RNs, 1 Pharmacist, 1 Respratory Therapist and Security). All my friends that I work with on a daily basis show up and are like WTF.

BAMN: 2 Hours later I have the Emergency Department Doctor walk in the room and say 'Your just a big manbaby, its the manflu, you faker'

Me: Sigh of relief.

DR: "Just kidding! Your going to surgery, its your appendix, its got to go, surgeons are outside the door."

6 hours later, the thing is out, I'm waking up from surgery. (Apparently that was SOMETHING according to the nurses.)

12 hours later I am discharged, off for 2 weeks.

Now a week later I am finally getting into a rhythm, not taking as much meds, feeling a bit better.

Morals of the story:

Thank God I work in a hospital because my dumb self would not go otherwise. Would have totally had a burst appendix if I was at home.

Thank God I work in a hospital because everyone knew me and that I wasn't some slacker coming in with 'stomach pain' to get out of work.

And lastly. Life can move pretty fast sometimes. Continue to kiss everyone goodbye before you leave because you never know whats going to happen.

Just thought I would share, sorry this isn't as coherent as I usually am. Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was good!

Oh...wow. My mom has been getting over a virus for two weeks and some people I know at work have taken turns catching one bug or another, but a ruptured appendix is just "something else" by comparison.

My Thanksgiving was pretty quiet. Almost everyone I know has family in town, so there are rarely any people who have "nowhere to go" that day (and they got invited by other families before I could get to them). The menu consisted of wine, cheese, fresh salad, croissants (from Costco), beef tenderloin basted in butter, cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon, and homemade cheesecake. I spent most of the weekend shopping and hanging out with friends, but had time to help dad hang up Christmas lights yesterday morning. Church was quiet last night and this morning.

Can totally relate. 2018 I had the "flu" for a month around Xmas, puking, the worst headaches, etc, did NOT want to go to the hospital, and when I was so sick I felt I had no choice (really early January or about), well yeah, long story short that turned out to be a brain abscess plus brain bleed. I'm super glad things worked out for you Kor and I hope your Mom beats that pesky virus, Mon.

I caught a mild cold last week but my symptoms have been on a tight leash most of the time. In other news, I got through the annual budget week for the hotel company I have as an accounting client and got to have some fun at their corporate dinner on Thursday night. I also went to my first gun show on Saturday. Much like going to a pawn shop, there were loads of coins, bullion, jewelry, some antiques, and even books. My acquisitions included (but were no limited to), a meteorite, two gold rings, a "melon knife" (think of a four-inch-long pocket knife with a slim blade), a straight razor, ammunition for my late grandfather's Czechoslovak-made Mauser knockoff, and two bricks of .22 rounds my dad wanted. My favorite finds included a $2,800 pen made from 18K gold (which I could not afford), a gold ring with a pink sapphire (which was way too big for me), an AK with gold parts on sale for $5,000, and a Sheffield SHE006 Fairbairn Sykes British Commando Dagger (which I bought from a retired U.S. Marshal).
