Old Faces, New Faces
The nation that once was Empire of Esagreum has finally reached out to the world again, ending years of isolation it suddenly went into. As communications are being re-established, the knowledge of what happened during this isolation remains incredibly murky, but it is evident that the Empire itself is no more, replaced by a variety of independent states that split the land between them, and have, through diplomacy or might, chosen to reunite with Esagreum itself at a sort-of-confederate level - every polity being independent but choosing to cooperate in certain matters.
The nations that now comprise this "Association of States" are Esagreum itself, now under a technocratic government and applying principles of their ideologies in combination with leftist ideas of labour and environmental concerns in mind; Republic of Alyesk, the once-independent nation that was subsumed by Esagreum as it grew incredible unstable; and a multitude of Frontier nations located on the mainland Stratis that have been previously united into a Confederation of their own and have eventually provided the framework for the new union.

Having taken notice of new Jiyuteran weapon, and the cause of it being used, the new Associate Commission has spent the following few days in a heated debate over an appropriate course of action. The plans to halt synthetic production of Historium have been halted themselves, and as a result of a mild panic over potential applications of it have also caused an urgent restructuring of military R&D budget. Shortly after, governments of The manchu republic, former rival Kronomia and Publica have been contacted, each with a request to open negotiations.

At same time, Esagreian Airspace Command and Esagreian Security Bureau have started compiling a collaborative report on satellite imagery and immediately available information to update the Association on state of world affairs and potential nations and groups of interest, focusing on their own continent first, as well as updating entries on polities that have previously existed and have been in contact with the nation prior to their isolation.

Take care of yourself there! Hope you only got a light form, went through it myself and... honestly i myself was really lucky, all i got was loss of smell and a fever that couldn't even inconvenience my day-to-day roomsitting anyway. Sleeping was a pain though.

Not until today.
I had to do a mandatory test the day before yesterday as we are preparing to get back into Football for the first time in over a year. Then yesterday while I was at work I got an email over halfway through my shift saying I had tested positive.
I was shocked because I felt completely fine and had no symptoms at all at the time. Today I woke up with a slight head cold, ie runny nose kinda maybe a cough or sneeze once every like hour.

Publica wrote:I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you get better soon!

I think I’ll go that way too, I’ve been pretty healthy and am just trying to eat a lot drink lots of water and still workout but obviously isolated from everyone. Thank you!

So far it hasn’t been terrible as expected. I’ve only had the slightest of head cold symptoms like a stuffy nose. So it feels more like allergies. However today I did lose my sense of taste which sucks because I love food. So yeah whoops

Out-of-Character

This is an explanation of the conclusion of the meeting between Jiyutera, The manchu republic, and Kronomia. The conclusion of this meeting was decided via telegram between the three of us to wrap up loose ends and begin the next phase of our conflict. (Manchu, Jiyu, let me know if this post is inaccurate and/or misrepresents your position in our RP. I'll quickly edit)

In-Character

The negotiations between Jiyutera, Manchuria, and Kronomia ended rather anti-climatically. Talks went stale, and interest fizzled. A few points were a bit muddy, some notions unclear, but ultimately, it was agreed that:

  1. Kronomia would end the occupation on the Jiyuteran island and keep all the pillaged Historium.

  2. Manchuria would end their naval blockade of Kronomian ports.

  3. Manchuria be allowed to enter Locus City, with Kronomian oversight, to retreive debris and remains of the submarine Panama.

  4. The war comes to an end.

But the conclusion of one war ushers in the next phase of conflict...

Since the end of this particular war, the civil war within Jiyutera rages on, to the point where nukes are launched and a space laser scorches large swaths of land. Kronomia still has a semi-functional ATKOS ready to level cities at a moments notice. And Manchuria, with their vast military might, seeks revenge, both on the Jiyuterans they defended and the Kronomians they attacked, for the dead who gave their lives for a war in which their nation benefited little.

The fractured Jiyutera appears to be indicating that they wish no quarrel with Kronomia anymore. Perhaps it's possible that two nations each with deadly space weapons can live in equilibrium. Only time will tell. However, trouble appears to be brewing between the Manchus and Kronomians. This could be the start of a new rivalry...

The manchu republic, Jiyutera, and Hakelforge

The cities of the council are ashen and their skyline look nothing more than something out of an artist's rendition of the end of the world. Once great, proud and tall buildings now lay waste as nothing but rubble on the crumbling ground below them. The cities in the south much more hellish than the north could imagine, the once great city and capital Nova Blomstadt having gone through the tragedy of the civil war and the Kronomian invasion.

The end of the world was behind Jiyutera, or atleast that was what had been envisioned when the Federation was proclaimed last year. However, the events of yesterday and the near nuclear annihilation made it seem as though the end was not in the past but with us in the future. Things ended well, but what if they don't next time?

The Commune was currently crippled, like a bug on its back. It had to deal with the Kronomian invasion quickly. It had to end the counter-revolution instantly. It had to establish order, or it might as well collapse. If it didn't show it's hand now it may as well not have lived to show it in the future, so it killed two birds with one stone. The weapon was revealed with its capabilities to be guessed and the counter-revolutionaries were dealt with with said weapon.

The problem now was the populace, long tired from the infinite war and finding themselves in the same situation as they were in before the Commune. They wanted change, stability, something it seems the Commune was too weak to provide...and that mentality had to change if the Commune were to stay. Jiyutera enters a new period in its history as it enters a state of pseudo-neutrality. Until the nation is back up on its feet, until its cities aren't crumbling but thriving, there will be no conflict or aggressive behaviour.

So give them some years...about ten or fifteen.

No, no, no, no... Bioweapons are wonderful because every time you deploy one you risk wiping out all human life! :)
You must be thinking of nuclear weapons!

God, I love people capable of acknowledging unpleasant somewhat immoral options as valid options that might be optimal long term. Probably the autism though, so we'll probably never get anything hard done. I also like that he talks about serious topics with Halo in the background. Seems like he makes good content. What do you guys think about the phrase "not neurotypical"? Personally, I just refer to myself as "defective", but I assume that's not exactly popular among others with mental health issues.

Yee? Why’s that, sounds interesting

Plug these into Desmos:

E(x)=k+±(b^2-b^2(x-h)^2/a^2)^0.5
E_t(x)=(x-p)E'(p)+E(p)
E_p(x)=E_t(x)+±(x-p)^2

Set k, b, h, a, and p as sliders and set ± to [1,-1].

_ means subscript and ^means super script. It's a line, an ellipse, and a parabola that are all tangent to each other no matter how you adjust the sliders. You can move it up down, make it bigger or smaller, whatever, and as long as the point is on the ellipse, everything will be tangent to it.
